Game Design Me Complaining About Stuff, Today: Dungeons

Do you agree with me that dungeons are heavily flawed?

    I haven't done the high lev stuff, but the one problem i have with the dungeons is the grindyness, but I can see why they don't want everybody walkin around in all legandaries for killing 1 boss.

    you know I said multiple times it wasn't my Problem if a dungeon was hard but when it was hard for stupid reasons (like pretty much undodgable attacks like the projectiles redbeard shoots).
    And before you say Try harder again I want to see you do the redbeard boss fight without getting hit.
    (sorry if I'm too salty again but I said that wasn't what bothered me multiple times now)

    Yea, I just wish there would be a better way to make the Player work for the items then mindless Repetition.
    At least the dungeons are kinda-enjoyable.

    And if the weapon I want to use is the endgame weapon for my build? I can't level up until it's useless if I hit the level cap.

    This point seems to have been buried in the discussion around how gud one should git, but I gotta agree about the amount of repetition needed to pick up the actual weapon and armour rewards from dungeons. I've looked at a couple of items that'd be really cool for levelling particular builds, then realised it means making the exact same dungeon run like a dozen times. At that point, the item no longer exists to me even in theory. Back to digging through random loot chests.

    Just shoot as soon as you can and ignore the shots coming at you unless it's too close for comfort

    just knock the boss back or blind him. He isn't that fast so if you can get far enough away from him you can stand on the pressure plate without incident

    At that point in the game every class in the game has an AoE, a stun and a mobility spell that deals damage (besides assassin, which gets vanish and both an AoE and stun in one spell). Also, they do low damage and are relatively slow, with the exception of the biting winds which are very, VERY frail

    -In the boat Shooting section I was deffinetly doing something wrong so no salt there anymore.

    -If you knock him back too far the canonballs will just sit there and not attack him (in my expirience).

    -The Thing, exept maybe a good mage build no class can spam AoE attacks fast enough to stop them from forming a Group and the actually Problem I have is that they come from all angles so it's impossible not to get hit (correct me if I'm wrong) and when you get hit you will probably get knocked right into the 30 enemies following you and die almost instantly if you don't react fast and surely soon if you don't heal.

    -That's really cool, I thought there was only one for each class, what's the 5th one?

    I haven't had that problem
    Every class in the game, besides mage, gets a knockback/stun spell that affects a radius around them, meaning that them coming up on you as a group and surrounding you shouldn't be an issue. Assassin gets spin attack, which BLINDS AND FREEZES everything in a five block radius, archer gets arrow shield, which does the same AND knocks them back in a four block radius, and warriors get war scream, which knocks everything within a ten block radius back.

    There's one for each element. The Nii Prime (earth), the nii slayer (thunder), the nii monk (water), the nii hawker (air), and the nii warlock (fire).The nii prime and slayer are both warrior based, the nii hawker is archer based, and the nii warlock and fire nii guardian are mages. Oddly enough, there are no assassin nii guardians, which is odd because they LOOK like assassins, but I digress.

    -then you aren't cursed with the AI constantly breaking as soon as you come near (no joke, I found an NPC which spawned above the barrier block layer), you lucky Cosmog.

    -they're all block enemies, which means they're all 1 block high, so you have to look down with arrow storm as archer and that makes it virtualy impossible to get goon knockback on them when there's a lot of them(once again, correct me if I'm wrong).

    Ok well I always Forget arrow shield is a Thing so this probably goes on me for not using it when I'm being chased by eenemies.

    Thanks for the Feedback, I somehow never thought of using arrow shield. Hopefully now I'll remember.

    Happens to the best of us. The first step to fighting something if it jumps on you is to panic and button mash controls until it dies (don't actually do that, that's a terrible thing to do and a habit I REALLY need to break)

    lol I do that too but I just spam the arrow bomb spell whenever I'm in a bad Situation.

    As the great Philosoph @davicusprime said, Panic = blow everything up.
    But I had an +239 spell damage or something like that millenium soooooooo

    Remember Kids, if you're doing something wrong, don't do it better, just Change your Tools so that it works until those Tools aren't good enough anymore and then you're screwed because you didn't learn how to do it right. That's the PERFECT strategy.

    Ok I know this is like the mother of all Necroposts (so actually @wrxryuu pls close) but I would like to Point out that they actually changed the Thing I was complaining about in the Grinding part!

    (I haven't seen for myself tho, too buzy playing BREATH, also looking at this thread from when I was even more of a n00b makes me cringe so it's time for it to die x.x)
