    I was thinking that there should be a way to set a waypoint or travel point. Maybe there could be a command that allows the player to set one where they are, or at a certain coordinate. The player info compass could point towards it then.

    If you're using 1.8 I'd recommend Xaero's Minimap, it's what I've been using for a while and it's decent.
