Why Did The Old Armour Get Removed?

So I remember that a while back armour used to actually appear on your skin, rather than on as a piece of armour you put on yourself, what happened with the old style, I really prefered it as it added more personality to the armour, can someone tell me what had happened?

I think In the future they could design armour models based on durability

 

Armour Skins were cool and interesting, but were implemented in a bit of a cheaty way that A) Mojang cracked down on due to the potential ramifications of it and B) caused lag and often resulted in people dropping items uncontrollably. Thus, they were disabled, until such a time comes that it is possible to optimize them and avert the cheatsiness we had to resort to in order to make them work.

oh it was illegal? I thought they were removed just because of the lag (I didn't experience any lag with them)

 

Uhm... Hypixel got some skin change thing but that might be legal, right..?

Yes. They change the whole skin. anyways, armor skins could have evolved into something great if most of them just not looked the same.

I liked armor skins to be honest. It added unique affects to the game.

 

Wow.. I sure do miss the old armor skins, I also miss the old armor.. I dropped it BECAUSE of the old armor skins u see
I'd give up anything and everything I have to drop my items while looking good again though
