I just cant see what is good about them

Cockleburr has good strength and thorns, and decent life steal and damage, not to mention THREE SLOTS.
Big Arm has a pretty absurd Earth Damage ID, and amazing melee damage and strength as well, plus some exploding. It might only have 1 power slot, but it has so much neutral damage on it, and Earth VI powders convert so much neutral to earth that it can dish out some petty insane damage.
