Dungeons Reworking Tower Of Amnesia

    I think tower of amnesia should be reworked around Dungeons instead of Skill points. Here's how I would change Tower of Amnesia.

    1.Move the Level requirement to the high tens or low twenties. This level change would make it hard for low level players bum rush; as some of these boss items are much higher levels. This quest will be a progressive quest that slowly gets completed like ToA or Qira's hive

    2.Instead of scrolls, Tinemild should ask the player for the dungeon rewards
    Ex [1/3] Tinemild: you have proven yourself worthy enough to defeat the Bane of Gaia

    [2/3] Tinemild: Lets see how you fair against the King of the Undead
    [3/3] Tinemild: Prove me your resilience by bringing me one [Charon's Brain].

    2.5, The order you would get the boss rewards would be as follows
    1.Witherhead Rib
    2.Arakadius Eye
    3.Garoths Breath
    4.Charons Brain
    5.Hashrs Bone
    6.Theoricks Ice shard
    7.Slykars Heart
    8.Redbeards beard

    3.(This is where I'm gonna loose people) Make the reward the ability to Craft Dungeon Keys. I know you are probably yelling "Overpowered!!" but wait!! The keys will be crafted not only from existing keys, but from junk and miscellaneous items. For example.

    In order to craft two crafted Ice barrow keys, the player will need
    1.Regular Ice barrow key
    2. 32 Rotten Flesh
    3. 16 Pure ice shards
    4. 16 Snow hearts
    These crafted keys Wont be easy to make! They will still be accepted by the collector. Also crafted keys Cannot be traded and will be Untradeable. They also cannot be used to make other crafted keys.

    Pros to being able to craft keys will include
    1.Doubling profit from key guardians while still keeping the fun of trying to find them
    2.More keys means players will be able to gain the higher tier rewards easier, the player will still have to beat the dungeon regardless.
    3.Givng purpose and value to worthless junk items the player disregards.
    4.Giving the tower of amnesia purpose again!
    5. Gives the player incentive to see and beat every dungeon!

    So this is my suggestion to fixing/revamping The tower of Amnesia. Feel free to point out any problems or loopholes in this suggestion. Criticism is always appreciated. Lots of love <3- GML

    This is actually a really good idea.
    But maybe decrease the costs just a little.
    (Also Ice Barrows isn't so related to the undead, use wolf fangs instead)?
    Perhaps 75% the costs of what you have now, and increase them as the dungeon gets higher leveled?

    I think raising level req of the current quest, or removing some of the dungeons would be good .-.

    Nice idea! Really like it, though even though this is a progressive quest I really think you should raise the level req higher. Ya know like how the old quest required Troms? Its pretty much that level of impossible.... Raise the level cap so newbie players dont accidentally try too hard on the impossible +1 though

    I think for the recipes just conbining 2 to 4 of the same type of key would be good. Or you could make it like powders and add an NPC called a locksmith. Here you select and they would combine keys to make a lower level, same level, or higher level key based on what you used. Kind of like powders I guess.

    Thou I would like for the quest to be reworked the making the Tower of Amnesia be used to craft keys would be out of place and a feature more fitting for the Forgery in Gavel. The reason that the Tower of Amnesia is called that is because it used to be the only way to reset your skill points (in game context being forgetting) with the price of the scroll costing 6 EB (original cost 1 LE).

    I'm all for re-purposing Tower of Amnesia and redoing the quest but it should be more in-line with the location.

    I know that the reset scroll is now irrelevant as a item now that we can reset our skill points for 2 soul points, but game design and mechanics should complement the world and atmosphere so it doesn't feel out of place.

    However, when you make the tower to get all the dungeon rewards, what does it have to do with the name of amnesia, after all there is nothing to forget in this version. In the previous version, you at least get to forget your mistakes by resetting your inaccurate skill points.

    Not really sure what this has to do with 'Amnesia' but I like the idea. It doesn't fit with the lore though sadly.

    That was actually a necropost; It's been over 1 month between your post and the one before yours. Anyways...

    (TL;DR AT BOTTOM)

    I'd want to support this, but it's not any better than the current one. I actually hated Tower of Amnesia ([back + forth] x 6 = REEEEEE), but I feel this would be even more stressful. The level gap between the start and end of the quest is too insane (around lvl20 to lvl65. That's 45 levels! Qira is between 80-100 [net of 20 extra], and ToAscension is between 40-75 [net of 35]). Furthermore, I didn't see anything based on a change to EXP gain, so it would give about 1/5 of the bar needed to level up at the end.

    Secondly, I feel that the dungeoneering part of this suggestion doesn't fit with the lore. The quest is based on forgetting your mistakes; not brutally slaughtering bosses for free tokens. If anything, more mistakes would be made this way than walking around. Even then, it takes a ton of time to actually get the keys. This would make both the economy and the grinding/back+forth worse than it already is.

    Thirdly, changing it from scrolls to dungeon rewards does NOTHING to stop rushing the quest. Banks exist, which are cross-class. It would be difficult for the first time, but further classes would have the same effect, making this as effective as not changing it at all.

    Finally, the crafting of dungeon keys is sort of pointless in the current system you've listed. Grind for tons of hours getting the items to get a second one, or just use the first and save time? To be honest, the latter choice sounds better. The ability to craft them ONLY after you complete the quest also makes the lore make less sense. To beat the quest, you need to dungeoneer alot. After that, you wouldn't want to touch another probably. This makes this reward both overpowered, grindy, and a bit void.

    The current lore of the quest is based on forgetting your mistakes (which amnesia can sometimes do), but yours is based on slaughtering monsters to get the exact same reward without forgetting past mistakes or anything. Heck, this revamp would make the quest even MORE annoying to complete. The level gap is the largest between the start and finish, and doesn't prevent the current problem. The new reward isn't worth the effort to make use of it. There also isn't enough detail as to WHERE you craft said keys. Is it on the Ternaves Black Road? How about the hidden Almuj Merchant(no spoilers as to where that dude is)? While the current Tower of Amnesia is grindy and boring, this one makes that worse, as well as the economy. No support, sorry.
