    It can't be fixed unless they remove 1.8 entirely. I think they are trying to move the player base away from 1.8 because the new skins and pets only work for 1.9+

    As has been already pointed out, this is a Minecraft mechanic that, as far as I know, there is no fix for. Now, however, if you know the magic of Java, and can fix this, the admins would greatly appreciate your coding skills. In the mean time, because this has so much in common with the infamous "fix lag" thread (please, don't remind me), I'm closing it, before things get all together too crazy.
