I've noticed an issue with the options different class builds have for weapons in the endgame. I thought it might have just been me, so I decided to take a more in depth look at the issue.

First, I got all the "endgame" weapons for each class, not including mythics. (Level 80-100) (Mythics are not included due to being extremely rare)

Now, let's remove all the weapons not actually good for endgame, or at least not for what we're focusing on in this thread.

This gets rid of Sans, Sreggad, Quill, Mountain Spirit, Bonethrasher, Glitchtean, Breath of the Vampire, Lost Soul, Solitude, Canyon Spirit, Crystal Thorn, Windchime, and Gearbox Stave. These weapons aren't bad, but they either have direct upgrades at higher levels, or are generic neutral damage weapons any build can use. Those won't change our results. (Sreggad is neither, but it focuses on Thorns and Reflection rather than attacking, which is a story for another thread.)

As a special exception, I will add Wall Breaker into the mix, it may only be level 72 but it sure packs a punch in the current endgame. Not including it would be a disrespect to all earth assassins.

Let's take our updated list, and add all the elemental damage types, and skill point requirement types.

Now for the tough part. Let's take a look at the options the builds have. (In this thread, I will only be looking at weapons for one or two skills, and rainbow. Sorry, but this already took four hours, I'm not adding three-skill builds. Ideally, if a weapon for your three-skill build isn't in the game, there will be three two-skill weapons that cover all your options, such as Misconduct, Storm Caller, and Ensa's Resolve for Water/Thunder/Air Archer)
Big Arm - Dmg: N - Req: Str
    Cockleburr - Dmg: N E - Req: Str
    Wall Breaker - Dmg: N E - Req: Str

Earth Assassin has 3 good weapon options. Cockleburr is good on it's own with a decent attack speed and powerful hits, and it also allows for spells, where as Wall Breaker is absurdly strong but slow and can only focus on melee hits. Big Arm is like Wall Breaker but slightly faster, and it doesn't completely kill your spell damage. Big Arm requires powders to do earth damage, and has a nice earth damage boost to compliment it, though Big Arm shines more with Neutral Damage.
    Copper Knife - Dmg: N T - Req: Dex
    Pencuri - Dmg: N - Req: Dex

Copper Knife is a decent option, but better for neutral or earth, and Pencuri requires powders but it sure packs a punch. Not the best options, but it's something. Thunder works better with a second element anyways.
    Droplets - Dmg: N W - Req: Int

ehhhhhhhhh? Droplets isn't very good. Good luck with pure water, it's not the worst, but your only option's best use is reflection.
    Magmarizer - Dmg: N F - Req: Def

Not the best weapon, but Magmarizer manages to hold it's own. It might not be the best for fire damage, but the health boost and health regen are really helpful for a tanky assassin.
    Dancing Blade - Dmg: N A - Req: Agi
    Silver - Dmg: N A - Req: Int Agi

Silver is good, but it's got an unfortunate intelligence requirement to deal with. Dancing Blade is definitely the better choice for pure air, the super fast attacks and decent walk speed will serve you well.
    Copper Knife - Dmg: N T - Req: Dex
    Arakadicus' Maw - Dmg: N E T - Req: Str Dex

Copper Knife shines for a while with earth powders, but gets outclassed at Level 98 by Arakadicus' Maw. Luckily, Arakadicus' Maw covers all your Earth/Thunder needs without negative health regen!
Oh boy, here we go. The first build with no item. Not to mention, Droplets on it's own is already kinda meh, but it's the ONLY water dagger that works with this build, and it focuses on REFLECTION rather than damage! Good luck going for an Earth/Water build, you haven't really got any options here.
    Pyroclast - Dmg: N E F - Req: Str Def
    Magmarizer - Dmg: N F - Req: Def

Magmarizer works surprisingly well with earth, but Pyroclast is better in most ways. Only use Magmarizer if you need the health boost, Pyroclast is better in every other aspect. Earth/Fire is covered pretty well.
    Deserter - Dmg: N E A - Req: Str Agi

I was very surprised to find an earth air option for Assassin, and a surprisingly decent one at that. Deserter might not be the best dagger, but it will definitely work if you decide to go Earth/Air.
    Tsunasweep - Dmg: N T W - Req: Dex Int
    Waterspout - Dmg: N T W - Req: Dex Int

Tsunasweep can pack a punch. It's melee might not be the best, but it makes up for that in amazing spell power, and mana steal is nothing to look down at either. Waterspout, on the other hand, sacrifices a bit of damage for some mana regen and slightly better water damage.
    Liquified Sun - Dmg: N T F - Req: Dex Def
    Black - Dmg: N T F - Req: Dex Def
    Nether's Deep - Dmg: N T F - Req: Dex Def

You've got the offensive one and the defensive one, take your pick. Black is great for damage, and has amazing spells, but don't let the negative mana regen catch you off guard. Liquified Sun is for the more tanky playstyle, sacrificing some damage for a health and defence boost. Both options work great!
Oh, and... Nether's Deep is there too, I guess. I wouldn't recommend it.
    Blur - Dmg: T A - Req: Dex Agi

Blur is a very good dagger that covers both of Assassin's most powerful elements. Super fast, great walk speed, and some mana steal, this weapon is all you need.
Looks like you've gotta go with Magmarizer and Droplets if you choose Water/Fire, there's no other options for either element. Have fun with your horrible weapons! This is an even worse choice than Earth/Water for options.
    Nimbus - Dmg: W A - Req: Int Agi
    Silver - Dmg: N A - Req: Int Agi
    Rewind - Dmg: N W A

Lots of options here, but a bit lacking on the water side of things. Silver requires powders for water damage, but has a nice boost for both elements and will deal good damage, and Nimbus also leans more on the air side of things. Rewind is decent too, but gets a bit outclassed later on. Decent options, but why is water so unrepresented here?
Heh, good luck with this one. Dancing blade and Magmarizer is all you've got.
Infused Hive Dagger - Dmg: N
    Yverlian Blade - Dmg: N E T W F A - Req: Ste Dex Int Def Agi
Alazarin - Dmg: N - Req: Str Dex Int Def Agi

Yverlian Blade is your go to option for rainbow offence, decent damage all around. Infused Hive Dagger is great too, but will take a lot of work, won't be completely balanced for all elements, and requires a lot of powders. Alazarin is the tank option, with great XP bonus to boot.
    Bizzles - Dmg: N E
    Poison Ivy - Dmg: N E - Req: Str
    Magnitude - Dmg: N E - Req: Str

3 different options for 3 different styles. Poison Ivy for, you guessed it, poison, Magnitude for Melee, and Bizzles, surprisingly, has really good spell damage.
    Feedback - Dmg: N T - Req: Dex
    Cue Stick - Dmg: N T - Req: Dex

Feedback is fast and Cue Stick is slow. They're both great.

...what, you wanted more? What else is there to say, these items are extremely simple!
    Nightstar - Dmg: N W - Req: Int
    Heartache - Dmg: N W - Req: Int
    Tidebinder - Dmg: W - Req: Int

Tidebinder is definitely your best option. If you can't get it, Heartache is definitely more powerful than Nightstar, but lacks the mana regen Nightstar has. I would use both, but only use Nightstar for the mana regen.
    Brimstone - Dmg: N F - Req: Def
    Ignition - Dmg: N F - Req: Def
    Undying - Dmg: N F - Req: Def
    Praesidium - Dmg: N - Req: Def
    Diaminar - Dmg: N F - Req: Def
    Infilak - Dmg: N F - Req: Def
    Tower - Dmg: N - Req: Def

    Ohhhhh boy here we go.
INFILAK IS EXPLOSIONS AND THAT'S IT
Tower is a decent tank weapon and a decent health regen weapon
Praesidum is an amazing tank weapon
Undying is an amazing health regen weapon
Diaminar is amazing for damage but super slow
Ignition is great for damage but faster than Diaminar
Brimstone is good for damage but faster than Ignition
    IS THAT ENOUGH OPTIONS
    Frenzy - Dmg: N A - Req: Agi

Frenzy may be your only option, but it's nothing to scoff at. Great damage at super fast attack speed, and good walk speed to boot. It's good enough for an air warrior to work.
Nothing to see here! You're gonna have to combine earth and thunder spears for this, and it doesn't work very well.
Nothing here either! And good luck, this is even worse than Earth/Water
Hammer of the Forge - Dmg: N E F - Req: Str Def

This spear has a bit of everything you'll need. Defence, Health, Damage, Health Regen, and even some exploding! It's a decent weapon for the build, with a little taste of a lot of things.
    Harwrol - Dmg: N E A - Req: Str Agi

This weapon is better than I expected, it has great damage, boosts defence, and even has health regen! It's the only one of it's kind and it does the job amazingly well.
Do I really need to explain this again? No weapons here!
    No weapons here!
Crack the Skies - Dmg: T A - Req: Dex Agi

This spear is very good despite not being warrior's specialty. Great damage and spells, and the walk speed is a nice touch too. Don't underestimate this one.
    No weapons here!
    No weapons here!
No weapons here! OKAY ARE YOU SERIOUS WARRIOR IS MISSING SO MANY OF THESE IT'S ABSURD OMFG
    Relfect - Dmg: N E T W F A - Req: Str Dex Int Def Agi

We recently got a rainbow spear, and it's... decent. It's not horrible.......? The elemental damage is so low! It's not trash, but it's not very good either. It has everything it should, but all the stats are so low! It's very lackluster.
    Oktavist - Dmg: N E - Req: Str

    Okay seriously.
    Why.
Earth archer get's one bow, that's decent at best.
There are SPEARS that do more damage than this thing!
Please... make it better... or just add another one for the endgame...
    Thunderlock - Dmg: N T - Req: Dex
    Spiritshock - Dmg: N T - Req: Dex

Thunder feels surprisingly underrepresented here. Thunderlock is decent, and Spiritshock is better, but that's the last we see of Thunder on it's own for the entire game. Is Spiritshock the best we get?
    Slumber - Dmg: N W - Req: Int
    Crescent - Dmg: N W - Req: Int

These bows are super simple. Crescent is better for neutral, and Slumber is better for water. That's it.
    Flintlock - Dmg: N F - Req: Def

This bow suffers from Oktavist syndrome. It's a fire bow, but it's just meh! And there's NO OTHER OPTIONS!
It doesn't even have health regen!!
Return to Ether - Dmg: N A - Req: Agi
    Dunesweeper - Dmg: N A - Req: Str Agi
    Gale's Force - Dmg: N A - Req: Dex Agi

And suddenly, archer is amazing again!
Yeah, air is where this class really shines. Definitely use Gale's Force if your build allows it, it's an amazing weapon with great damage and walk speed. Return to Ether is basically Gale's Force but worse, but with amazing XP bonus.
And Dunesweeper is just Dunesweeper, we'll see it again in a few spoilers.
    Petrified Horror - Dmg: N E T - Req: Str Dex
    Sleeping Beast - Dmg: N E T - Req: Str Dex

Use Sleeping Beast if you don't want to be destroyed by negative health regen, but Petrified Horror is better in every other way. These two should cover all your Earth/Thunder needs.
Heh, you expected a weapon here? Nice joke.
No redemption for Oktavist and Flintlock here.
Earthsky Equinox - Dmg: E A - Req: Str Agi
    Dunesweeper - Dmg: N A - Req: Str Agi

Dunesweeper is only good with earth powders until you get to Level 98. Use Earthsky Equinox as soon as possible, it's a great weapon and is better than Dunesweeper in every way.
    Misconduct - Dmg: T W - Req: Dex Int

    Maelstrom part 1

This weapon is great! The negative health regen hurts it a bit, but the damage output is still absurd with this thing. Go wild!
    Demon's Will - Dmg: N T F - Req: Dex Def

Super generic Thunder/Fire weapon, it works, it's good, have fun.
    Storm Caller - Dmg: N T A - Req: Dex Agi

    Maelstrom part 2

This bow might be low levelled, but don't underestimate it's power. Great thunder and air damage, and not much else.
    Fyrespit - Dmg: W F - Req: Int Def

Mostly fire, with some good health regen and a little bit of water damage. The extra mana regen really makes Fyrespit shine.
    Ensa's Resolve - N W A - Req: Int Agi

    Maelstrom part 3

The damage is great, but this weapon is surprisingly defensive, with the elemental defence boosts and mana regen. Use this to capitalize on elemental weaknesses and for spells.
    Also, XP bonus.
    Djinni - Dmg: N F - Req: Def Agi

You'll need air powders for this thing to use that air damage boost, but even without them the bow is still decent. Great neutral damage and decent fire damage, without the negative walk speed of most fire weapons!
    Fog of Creation - Dmg: N E T W F A - Req: Str Dex Int Def Agi
    Awakening - Dmg: E T W F A

Use Fog of Creation if you're actually using a rainbow build, it's better.
But Awakening is still a neat weapon, because it has NO SKILL POINT REQUIREMENT. Meaning any build can become a rainbow with it!
    Deepwood Root - Dmg: N E
    Yggdrasil - Dmg: N E - Req: Str Int
    Rot of Dernel - Dmg: N E

Use Yggdrasil if possible, and put water powders on it. Otherwise, do the same with Deepwood Root.
Rot of Dernel is for poison and poison only.
    Lightningrod - Dmg: N T - Req: Dex

This is a decent wand, but it doesn't really do the element justice. Good damage and IDs, but it just could be so much better.
Lunar Spine - Dmg: N W - Req: Int Agi
    Rainstorm - Dmg: N W - Req: Dex Int
    Requiem - Dmg: N W - Req: Int

Requiem all the way, Lunar Spine is meh, but we'll get to that later. Rainstorm is only good with thunder powders.
    Essence Bastion - Dmg: N F - Req: Def

LOOK AT THAT HEALTH REGE- oh wait it's mage
It's a decent weapon, the damage isn't bad but it's isn't too terribly great either.
Lunar Spine - Dmg: N W - Req: Int Agi
    Squall's Breath - Dmg: N A - Req: Agi
    Whimsy - Dmg: N A - Req: Agi
Cyclone - Dmg: A - Req: Dex Agi

Cyclone is good, and becomes great with thunder powders, Lunar Spine is great but get's outclassed by Whimsy and Squall's Breath. Use Squall's Breath for walk speed, and Whimsy for great damage and XP bonus.
    Deathsplinter - Dmg: N E T - Req: Str Dex

This weapon is very unique, it's good for the damage and the negative health regen isn't too bad because it's for mage. I honestly didn't expect this kind of wand to exist for a long time, and I'm super excited to use it soon.
    Yggdrasil - Dmg: N E - Req: Str Int
    Aldorei's Vision - Dmg: N E W - Req: Str Int

Use Aldorei's Vision until you hit level 98, then put water powders on Yggdrasil. Both are great wands for a very underused mage build.
Magma Chalice - Dmg: N F - Req: Str Def

It's kind of decent? Give it earth powders and it's kind of good enough maybe, At least the health boost is nice and can really be capitalized on with mage's heal.
HA NICE TRY SUCKER NO WEAPON FOR YOU
    Rainstorm - Dmg: N W - Req: Dex Int

It's decent with thunder powders, but using other wands is usually better.
    Nothing here either, sorry...
Cyclone - Dmg: A - Req: Dex Agi

Good without thunder powders, great with thunder powders. A fairly POWDERFUL option.
    Antipode - Dmg: N W F - Req: Int Def

Very average, decent damage, that's about it. The spell damage is kinda good.
    Heavenly Wisp - Dmg: N W A - Req: Int Agi
Lunar Spine - Dmg: N W - Req: Int Agi

Oh look, it's Lunar Spine again!
ehh... Heavenly Wisp is better here.
    Phoenix Wing - Dmg: N F A - Req: Def Agi

If you don't want to die, this is your wand. Amazing health boost, health regen, and decent damage for a tank weapon too!
    Manablast - Dmg: E T W F A - Req: Str Dex Int Def Agi
    Cascade - Dmg: N E T W F A - Req: Str Dex Int Def Agi

Manablast is super powerful but super slow, Cascasde is decent but super fast. Pick your poison, both are great.

Builds that need an endgame weapon:
    Water Assassin
    Earth/Water Assassin
    Water/Fire Assassin
    Fire/Air Assassin
    Earth/Thunder Warrior
    Earth/Water Warrior
    Thunder/Water Warrior
    Thunder/Fire Warrior
    Water/Fire Warrior
    Water/Air Warrior
    Fire/Air Warrior
    Earth Archer
    Thunder Archer
    Fire Archer
    Earth/Air Mage
    Thunder/Fire Mage

Builds that could definitely benefit from a better endgame option:
    Rainbow Warrior
    Fire/Air Archer
    Thunder Mage
    Fire Mage
    Earth/Fire Mage

I guess my point with all this is that, while the goal was to make all builds viable, or at least usable, in the endgame, it's not possible without a weapon to use. It's impossible to fight without the equipment required, and some builds just were forgotten, and left without the weapon they needed to work. Lots of people have complained about this before, but now, there's proof. We need to add a few things to make all the builds viable or usable in the endgame, because what we have right now obviously isn't working.

    And I just proved it.

If you read all the way to the end, I thank you. Hopefully my 4 hours of work on this thread will pay off.

So first off we're not accounting for armors, which can easily make or break a build, but I'll let this slide, given that it is implied that you are talking about using the optimum armor for that class.

If literally every combination of element has a weapon that is "endgame", sure thats cool, but its always just going to get beaten out statistically by a class that has synergistic advantage. Take "Steam" (Fire/Water) mage. It's going toget beaten by Water/Air mage every day, even with top tier weapons on each.

Also, if every build does the exact same thing, which is what is implied in this thread, then there will be no changing in the metagame. I do admit that PvP is needed, but a mass adjustment of endgame weapons is completely unneeded right now. First we need to make PvP accessible and viable to lower levels than just 80+, for it to be a concern of the magnitude you present it as.

But all the build at least deserve a fighting chance, no matter how bad the elemental match-up is, they can't even fight without a weapon. Take fire/air warrior, for example. Sure, water would destroy it, but this isn't about PvP, it's about PvE! Warrior has a spell that could benefit so much from a fire/air weapon, war scream, but no such weapon exists in the game, for no real reason.

For example, how is a hive bow with 5 T6 thunder powders not an end game archer thunder weapon?

Mind that myself and Salted are really the only two that make items. Tantibus has made a couple, but I believe only six or seven. Salted generally focuses on shop items, loot-exclusives, mythics, and dungeon rewards, which leaves me with the reins for run-of-the-mill obtainables(items that can simply be dropped by any mob, with no special requirements, excluding Mythics). I realize there are many gaps, and in fact there will be a few more options this update.

A bit of OCD on my part led to my noticing there weren't an equal amount of obtainables in terms of uniques and rares, and I am presently working on that. In fact, this update, the uniques will be rounded out with a few new bows, leading to all classes having 72 Unique obtainables. I will start work on the rares soon. You may be pleased to hear that I have attempted to fill these gaps in as I notice them, but...

    gasternervous.png

The item tracker sheet that we use is ridiculously messy. Many gaps have been missed simply because the format isn't that great. Either way, I will let you in on a few sneak peaks on the bows. Their names will be cut out, for sake of keeping some surprise for tomorrow(or whatever day of this month the update comes out. I'm assuming tomorrow though).

    hornet.png

    junebrry.png

    bwhistle.png

    gasterneutral.png

While there are certainly still gaps to fill and many, MANY more items to be made, I am trying my best to fill out the list and create items you might be interested in using. Though, this does include more sections than simply the endgame, as build-making truly starts around the Lv 40 range, and...well, we all probably are aware of how barren the 40-70 section is.

A work, much more than in progress, to be sure, but this will allow me to see just what it is that I may have missed. I'll say it again.

To explain, this weapon really had very few downsides for 2 mana regen and very very good effects on a unique. A couple percent points higher, this could easily have been a legendary. Most nerfs were rather minor, though. It was either a general effectiveness nerf, or -1 powder slot.

It also has abysmal base damage and, while its IDs are impressive, it's nothing that can't be outmatched by the endgame items.
Approximately 15 of each item was made. Not exactly that amount for each type, though; some had a few more weapons than others. But, now they are all equal at 72 droppables.
