World Quest Helmets Are Annoying! Let's Change That!

    Hello guys! Today I am going to rant a subject I have wanted to rant forever. It is the quest helmets! I cant use my build against CoW, or use by build anywhere that requires a quest helmet! That is right! Maro Peaks, can't use most of my build OR my bow. Fighting CoW, can's use most of my armor or my bow either. Let's change that!!!!

    So, I am a freedom user. I have a pretty strong build. I am lvl 97, got some great gear, and a great blue mask.

    See, there is the problem. I have to take off my blue mask to wear the quest helmets. IT IS SUCH A PAIN! I can't use my freedom in too many places, and I just end up putting on cosmic armor and using bob's mythic or something.

    How to solve this issue:
    Here is how to solve this issue. How about you just have to have the item in your inventory. They could change all the quest helmets into like pieces of paper, and change them into spells, and you have to be "under the spell of protection" to go into CoW's cave. Leave it to the content team to think of something creative about having the item in your inventory. That is just one idea off of the top of my head. If you guys have ideas please respond!

    The quest system prevents this. Jumla would have to update it. That doesn't seem like it is going to happen any time soon.

    I think the thing about quest helmet is cuz they suck.

    Its almost like you have to do the quest with no helmet.

    It adds to the challenge.

    (until you get to the point where all you skill points get screwed up cuz of it).

    I have been thinking of this problem and I really only come up with having a lv 100 or so quest that would be ToL like but with all the helmets.
    I would have it's reward be the "Shifting Shadow Helmet"; a 0 HP, Legendary, Fixed Id's, Quest Item that has around 300 raw elemental Def in each stat and maybe +10 Skill points to all stats as well but it gives -15% to all elemental damage types? Anyway the main point is that the quest will take all of your helmets that you have accumulated and gives you this one that would count as all of them in one helmet. Also in the future, if there are new quest helmets, you could have a NPC that will take any new helmets and update your old Shifting Shadow Helmet and getting rid of the unwanted quest helm.
    Lore:
    This forgotten helmet is made of only light and dark magics that have been brought into a twilight harmony, allowing it to change shape and produce the effects that the wearer desires. Due to it having no physical form it is completely useless to material attacks, but will shut out all forces of corruption, decay, out of control magics, and elements alike.

    2. i think using the necklace or bracelet slot instead would work, they're a lot less significant.

    Again, as has been stated. the quest system NECESSITATES a helmet if you need an item requirement to enter a region. This is the way it is coded and making things behave otherwise simply does not work. It has been tried before. It also requires the -specific- helmet, as it draws from a chest with the needed item within. If there were multiple items within the chest, the system would check for two helmets being worn. Thusly, a catch-all helmet will not work. Again, it is up to Jumla's coding that this changes, and I unfortunately cannot see this happening any time soon, because this has been brought up to him many times in the past.

    These quest helmets are significant and sometimes logical to the quest's progression.
    I will disagree with the idea of having the quest helmet held in your inventory because it ruins the point of having it be a helmet.
    However, I do agree with this idea:
    I also have to say that having these quest items in your bank/inventory is annoying and takes up space, especially if you're doing it for every class slot you possibly have, so it fills up even more space, and you can't have a class that holds all that stuff.

    I see that is a quite a problem, would it be any faster to code if, instead of looking in 1 chest, it had an either/or search in 2 chests, 1 for each item?
    I really don't know how to code, but I think I have a grasp on reading it, and I think I have seen something like an either/or

    I had to do many of my quests without a weapon becuase the quest helmet didnt provide enough skill points for me to wear my armor.
    So i usually had to go through things with only a helmet and boots.

    Some quests they let you take off your helmet once you are inside, but then I would have to wait to regen all my health.

    One may ask, why don't you just reassign your skill points?
    This was before gameplay update, so it would cost 1le per reset, and I'm nowhere near rich.

    I wish this would be added, but it seems to be unlikely it is possible
