You Guys Need To Start Prioritizing Fixing Bugs Over Updates

Seriously. There are some serious bugs that have been issues on the issue tracker for months and they still have yet to be fixed. You guys need to start prioritizing them over these random updates.

Big bugs need big time put in to them. Even if they prioritize, some of the bigger bugs will only be fixed by the time the update comes out.

Dozens of bugs get fixed during almost every update, because constant bug patches would mean more downtime.

 

But it would also mean a more stable and playable game.

 

If the game doesn't update, more players will leave. The staff are working on updates as well as bugs too, and they are working hard to fix them. Just like updates, you can't just fix bugs in a few days.

The enderchest deletion has been a bug since December. You can't tell me it takes that long to find a fix for such a simple problem.

 

Which is nice and all, but the vast majority of players aren't encountering these glitches. The glitches that do affect tons and tons of people are patched ASAP.

The small possibility of these bugs occurring is less important than the 100% chance that people will start leaving if there's no new content.


In any case, these bugs are being worked on; it's just that there's really only one (sort of two) people that can actually do anything about it.

 

I'm sure they are aware of the bugs, but remember that they are trying their best to fix it the best they can but not everything can all be fixed with just a push of a button. It does take time and patience I'm sure so just wait some time and they'll get fixed soon. (:

 

You're telling me, just because there is no item identifier in ONE MINOR TOWN that you BARELY EVER go to and no banker in the same town, MAKES THIS GAME UNPLAYED? "a more stable and playable game" kk

 

That's not very major, but it's still a problem. But the fact that accessories are deleted from your ender chest upon upgrading it is a major bug that has happened to a lot of people.

 

ive never heard of this happening....

 

Necklace deletion is aminor bug and the pirate island npc's will barely be used.
The big bugs get patched rather quickly

Don't make me talk about the lag with horses and boats. That makes this shit unplayable.

 

Switch to 1.8.9 for better horse and boats

Bug fixing, since we only have one developer, actually is just as time-consuming, if not moreso, than releasing updates, since updates don't necessarily force us to introduce anything new coding-wise. The GM's and builders can just add in some new quests and areas and be good, sorta like with the Wynnter update. No coding necessary.

If you listened to GlitchedSlayer's interview with Jumla, he IS working full-time to fix these bugs, and is actively looking to clean up the code and get more developers, so your cries for help are far from having gone unheard.

And then, to top it off, generally bugfixes come out with updates, because if we want to update the server we -also- have to push the map and quests and mobs to the map, which is generally impossible until everything is done(or use a lengthy and time-consuming workaround which from what I've heard takes even longer). There are plenty of reasons why bug fixes take so long, but complaining about it like this won't get you anywhere, especially since we're already working on trying to fix things like this faster.

You also nned to remember that the guys working on the update in any form but code wise dont do bug fixes.
