    So this was a thread that was on my original "threads to write" list, but I never got to it. Since I currently don't have a computer (the moving company takes forever) and I can't finish my devourer theory without it, I decided it's high time to make this.

    So, consumables. Every RPG has them, and they are a pretty basic thing. You buy a thing then use it.

    Currently in Wynn we only have potions. Health, Mana, elemental potions, and XP potions. That's kind of lame to be honest.

    So what if we added more consumables? Also the original idea was consumable weapons, so let's talk about that too.

    Some ideas:

    A type of snare that can be bought in Troms (since it's a jungle) or Breminglar (Cuz savanna) which when right clicked, will be placed. The snare will last 15 seconds and any mobs caught in it will not be able to move for 3 seconds upon getting within 3 blocks of it. Does not work on players.

    A type of bomb that you put down and 3-5 seconds later, explodes. It would not damage mobs, but have super high knock back, giving you some breathing room. Does not effect the player that cast it. Probably could be bought in Luesco (cuz bomb shop) or Theased (cuz blast mining).

    So you see what I mean? And before you make the point about textures, remember, the diamond sword can have over 2000 different textures (or is it 1000, I forget).

    But I also want to talk about weapons. Imagine weapon is that you buy and have limited ammo, and then can be refilled or thrown away once used.

    Like in Selchar (cuz fishing) perhaps a harpoon that has 5 shots and will shoot a mob then pull them towards you, and then stun the mob.

    A cannon than has 3 shots and fires REALLY slowly (like it has recharge time) but does a lot of damage and the projectile does AoE damage (explodes).

    Or a sword with 10 hits (yay, sword!) that like causes all enemies within 5 blocks of the target who was hit (but not the one hit) to run away from the player (switch their AI to an ocelot AI for a few seconds) but does very few damage.

    At the merchants where you buy the weapons you could also buy ammo for them. Or just throw them away if you don't need them anymore. Idk about prices, but like the ammo would cost 1/3 or 1/2 the price of the weapon to refill, and can only be refilled when empty (not partially empty).

    Anyway you get my point. Add more consumables that go away once used (or need to be refilled) to add a new interesting mechanic to the game. It would not be something that completely changes everything like elements did, but just another option if you want it.

    So yeah...

    That's my idea.

    Also currently the server is 1.8-1.10

    Considering the server is gonna get updated soon, and 1.8 is fairly outdated, and 1.9 could add tons of cool mechanics, I think it won't be too long before the server gets pushed out of 1.8

    I think wynn will follow the modding community and jump to 1.10.2 as its the newest stable version out there. (1.9 is hell)

    True. But it does not really make a difference in this context. In 1.10, the diamond sword still had 1000+ textures just like in 1.9

    Tbh, I don't like the idea. I love the creativity and the way of thinking, but players do not need 5 kinds of weapons and would be hard in pve.

    Also, the play style of different classes could be put to waste, or we would see certain classes using these a lot more. My suggestion would be to make like the snare a spell (if they make 5th spells) for a certain class. I just can't see a class like an archer using one of these bombs by placing it, instead of shooting it.

    Love the creativity, but in game might not be great

    What if certain classes could only use certain weapons? Like imagine only an archer being able to use the harpoon and like an assassin not being able to use a cannon or a warrior not using the snare.

    That way instead of causing conflict ions, it enhanced the choices between classes.

    Like you know how assassins are underpowered? What if a bunch more of these consumables/weapons were available to only assassin. Like assassins are meant to be capable with various weapons.

    Or like the traps are meanly meant for archers, magic based ones mostly for mages, and melee and brute weapons are supposed to be mainly for warriors.

    Like the idea. The snares would be helpful, but I don't see myself using a harpoon or a cannon. But the different classes would be cool. It would be like a different type of weapon. Similar to my idea of them being spells

    Well the harpoon and cannon were just concepts. There would be a bunch more, naturally. It was just to demonstrate the idea of weapons with refillable ammo.

    Not like only for assassins, but more available to assassins (going with the theme of assassins being skilled in many weapons). For like every 1 consumable available for other classes assassins may get like 3 different ones. This would also help offset the assassin underpowered-ness (and who knows! Perhaps there could be an assassin only item that gives a movement thing)
