    I thought that it would be nice to be able to write in genders for two reasons:
    1. Many of us (myself included) believe there are a few more genders than Male and Female, and while some of us do not, it would be nice for people to fit under a label they are comfortable with. For example, I would like to use "Male(?)" as my gender because I currently do not know if I am transgender or not.
    2. It would be easier to create "themes" for your usernames. For example, currently I'm doing an "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" theme, and I make everything I can on my profile card thing "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA". Seeing "Male" on there kind of ruins the effect I'm going for.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am pretty sure that this is impossible due to the use of Xenforo as a host. Same issue as shoutbox unbans, following limit, etc.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but if what I'm thinking is true, people that put neither "Male" or "Female" might be stigmatized by some of us here because not everyone fully accepts people that doesn't recognise themselves as the either of the 2 common genders. This might result in situations on the forums that we definitely do no want, and turn this place into a website where people argue about gender identity.

    At the risk of receiving another flaming garbage bag of dog shit at my front door, this can't be done. As Odnod said, the Xenforo host does not allow for this, though there is an "Unspecified" option you can choose from in your profile page...

    And, in spite of many people I know being transgender and taking issue with that, my experience with "social justice warriors" in the real world who have rallied for things like this has rather soured my opinion of this whole debacle as a whole. Just set it to unspecified. If you have an issue with this, take it up with Xenforo. There is no need to continue this discussion further.
