Speak to Oxolan in the mesa at [1228,31,-1604].
    ____________________________________________________________________

[1/3] Oxolan: Oh! Welcome to my, er, lab stranger!

[2/3] Oxolan: I've recently been studying a peculiar phenomena, it appears a large amounts of people from the nearby village have been leaving to some location in the middle of the night.

[3/3] Oxolan: I need you to go there and try to find out what's causing this madness.

[Quest Book Updated] Talk to Hadrian in the town to try to discover the source of the issue.

[1/8] Hadrian: Huh, what do you want? I'm trying to deal with a crisis right now! Scat!

    [2/8]
Hadrian: Wait, you say Dr. Oxolan sent you?

[3/8] Hadrian: My apologizes for lashing out at you like that, it's just this problem has had me quite stressed lately.

    [4/8]
Hadrian: Many people have been leaving in the middle of the night and we're not quite sure as to why.

    [5/8]
Hadrian: They seem to be going up river as if they're some sort of brainless zombies.

[6/8] Hadrian: Waking up in random part of the mountains, you can see how dangerous that sounds.

[7/8] Hadrian: We're in desperate need of a solution, before someone gets hurt, or worse..

    [8/8]
Hadrian: Sorry, I've got to get back to work now, this problem won't solve itself.

[Quest Book Updated] Report back to Oxolan.

[1/4] Oxolan: Hmm, up river you say?

[2/4] Oxolan: The only thing I know is that the town gets most its drinking water from that river and all that water comes down from the lake up there.

[3/4] Oxolan: Hmm.. Ok, let's try getting to the bottom of this.

[4/4] Oxolan: Go see what you can find at the source of the water.

[Quest Book Updated] Try and find anything strange at the source of the waterfall.

You find a cave full of lush Sugarcane and pick one up.

    [Quest Book Updated]
    Show Oxolan what you discovered.

[1/5] Oxolan: Sugarcane!? The Sugarcane found in this part of Wynn acts as a powerful hallucinatory substance!

[2/5] Oxolan: It practically takes control of its host, leading them away so that it can spread.. It isn't pretty.

[3/5] Oxolan: It must have been seeping into the water supply through that cave, which explains the dilution of its effects.

[4/5] Oxolan: I know what to do, but first I will need [2 Potions of Drunkness] [10 Mashed Insects] and [3 Brown Mushrooms].

    [5/5]
Oxolan: I'll be here waiting your return.

[Quest Book Updated] Retrieve [2 Potions of Drunkness] [10 Mashed Insects] and [3 Brown Mushrooms] for Oxolan.

[1/5] Oxolan: Perfect! With these ingredients I should be able to create an herbicide that will kill the sugarcane down to the roots without harming any of the villagers.

    [2/5] Oxolan: ...

[3/5] Oxolan: Alright, here it is.

[4/5] Oxolan: Throw this potion onto the sugarcane, that should put an end to this turmoil.

[5/5] Oxolan: Go on, we don't have any time to waste!

[Quest Book Updated] Return to the cave and throw the potion on the sugarcane.

Ending 1: Upon throwing the potion into a hidden hopper, the cave begins to his, signifying the death of the sugarcanes.

Ending 2: Upon throwing the potion into a hidden hopper, the floor of the cave opens up beneath you, and you're transported to a boss room.

[1/?] Cellus: Filthy human, come to kill me!? I'd like to see you try!

[2/5] Cellus: I am the mighty Cellus, king of plants!

The cave is about the size of a room in the ToA, full of all sorts of flowers and foliage.

    Boss YML:
    Cellus.item.yml
    tag: 'Cellus'
    chest: 0,0,0
    attack: Melee
    level: 35
    health: 800.0
    regen: 40.0
    minXP: 40
    maxXP: 47
    minDam: 21.0
    maxDam: 49.0
    attackRate: 2
    projectile:
    projectileSpeed: 1.0
    lootMultiplier: 1.0
    speed: 1.7
    vision: 24
    vanished: false
    boss: true
    burning: false
    baby: false
    projectileToMob: false
    spawnedID: 'null'
    maxSpawned: 1
    spells: true
    spell: 'CHARGE'
    spellCooldown: 10
    damage: 25
    soundHurt: 'SILVERFISH_KILL:0.7'
    soundDeath: 'DIG_GRASS:0.5'
    soundRandom: 'CAT_HISS:0.8'
    item: minecraft:reed
    itemdamage: 0

I realize the health is a little low, but it's more of a thing to be CAUGHT than it is a thing to be FOUGHT.

After you kill the boss, you will be teleported outside the cave, as you would be with a normal dungeon.

    Return to Oxolan.

[1/3] Oxolan: You're back! I assume everything went according to plan?

[2/3] Oxolan: Excellent! Now that the town is safe, I can return to my research on the elusive Mesa Rose, which is said to grow somewhere in this area.

[3/3] Oxolan: Thanks for your help, please take this! I may not have much, but you deserve it after going through all that trouble.

This is actually a really old quest idea a friend and I had put together about a year ago that I rediscovered recently, so I revised it quite a bit and, voila, here it is! Hope you enjoy!

Let me know what you think, what parts should be changed, should more be added, something removed, what you like and didn't like, anything, I really appreciate it!

Ending #2 seems odd, as there's no previously mentioned boss; the supposed cause is simply the hallucinatory effects of the sugarcane. Unless, of course, the player themselves are affected, becoming the reason why they fight the boss.

First line of dialogue with Cellus should use a semicolon or a period in place of the comma. I feel a period fits better here. In addition, add a "Have you" in front of "come to kill me."

I recommend, referencing the first line of dialogue with Cellus, that you use a question mark only, and not both an exclamation mark and a question mark. Using both is incorrect according to the rules of the English language, if I recall correctly.

First comma in the third line of dialogue during the quest's completion should be a semicolon or period, not a comma. I assume you're looking for the effect of a semicolon, as you used a comma in the first place, so that's probably a better idea.

This quest can be called a "fetch quest." If you didn't know already, a fetch quest is a quest where you simply deliver, or "fetch," some items for someone, and end it there. That would appear to be the majority of the quest. Try adding more exploration and the like if possible. Use Memory Paranoia as an example, but leave out the boss fight unless it's relevant and fits smoothly with the rest of the quest. Don't make it as long either, as the main "issue" that seems to plague the characters here has a relatively simple fix.

I can see where you're coming from with all of the grammatical errors made within the quest, but then again, I'm fairly certain a sentient plant beast wouldn't exactly care about as to whether or not he was phrasing his sentences correctly within the confines of language. Sorry if I seem like I'm coming off as pretentious.

I also see why the sudden introduction of a boss might be a little more than questionable, though. But, as you said, it's almost completely a fetch quest, bar the boss fight, being the reason I added it. I should think that its existence isn't TOO far out of place, a plant that already has the ability to somewhat control its host? The reaction of a greater power from which the preexisting plants rooted (no play on words intended) made a little sense in my eyes, but it was just a suggestion. I'll see what I can do to give the quest more "flavour", I appreciate the feedback.

The boss seems quite weak for that level.

If a mob is supposedly uneducated, it doesn't need to have good grammar (the "Have you" is unnecessary), but it should have good punctuation with its sentences, as its speech is being written down.

Well, a boss fight doesn't necessarily add flavor unless it fits well. Again, try making a smooth introduction, or at least an alternate outcome in the case there is a boss fight, where everything doesn't go "according to plan."

Another thought: Why would herbicide open a door? Seems out-of-place. Maybe being pulled into the boss room, rather than a door opening for you?

Yeah, but it's supposed to be caught rather than fought, if you see what I'm saying
It moves pretty fast and only has a charge attack, but if you've ever punched a plant, you'll know they don't tend to fight back.
I will defeat you some day, oak tree.

My thought was that the herbicide, rather than killing off the plants, angered the boss, which was sort of linked to them. As for the "according to plan" bit, I kinda liked that angle, Oxolan being unaware of the conflict which had taken place. Bliss in ignorance, y'know? As for adding detail, I do plan to add more to make it more exciting rather than just running about, though it's rather late here so I plan to wait.

Still, I recommend having some kind of "being pulled in" cut-scene or something of the sort rather than a door opening for you that you can optionally drop into.

Fun fact: It's actually "Saccharum", which is fun because it's a genus of which Sugar Cane is a part of. On second thought, that's not really fun at all.

On topic, I feel the dialogue could use some work. Mainly with some punctuation, but also in making it flow better.

I'm going to completely ignore ending #2, because that means I'd half to talk about mobs and I woke up 10 minutes ago and I'm lazy.
    TMI?
    In any case, good quest.
Level 33 is a bit low for the mesa, though. I think at least level 36 or 37 would be the best starting point. That troubled tribesmen (or something similar) quest hardly counts.
Also, items do have a special color: [Like This.]
Another thing: "As if they were brainless zombies" doesn't work very well because zombies in Wynn work very differently. Maybe just change it to "As if they were corrupted" or something like that.

Thanks for the feedback! I thought it might be a good quest to kind of introduce the mesa, though you have a fair point, it very well may be a bit too low, what with Reggie wandering around. Also, the items are a special color? I could make them a little brighter to make it more noticeable, but alright. Lastly, it wasn't necessarily comparing them to Wynnic zombies, but the comparison to any other kind of zombie wouldn't exactly be very well fitting to the lore.. Alright, I'll change that part up to better fit, thanks!
