Obligatory Download?

Hi ,i used to play in your server some time ago ,i tryed to play like 1 month ,and just now but its say i need to download the resources pack obligatory ,i know that the pack is to make the game "more fun" but i think it would be better if anyone can decide if you want to install or no the resource pack ,i dont know ,but its my opinion ,i would like to read your opinions . Thanks.-

Long story short: make the server resourcepack optional to use.

However, playing the game with the resourcepack on does make the game slightly simpler. The weapon models are actually re-textured blocks as an item. So, if you were to play without the resourcepack, you'd be using a slab to fight monsters. If you don't use the resourcepack and use another or just the default, you will be spammed with messages from the server saying you are not using the server's resourcepack.

Why does the resource pack need to be on? I get that the mods want to make the game fun, but for the people who play with tablets or some other sort of very low RAM computer, the resource pack can take up room that is not needed and can be over laggy. So, the resource pack SHOULD be optional, but, I still recommend having the resource pack on. The WynnPack is good and should be used.

Dirt slabs in Minecraft 1.10, anyone?

 

Because the resource pack is how the game should look. You had to kinda use your imagination to think your shears were a pair of daggers, or that the shovel you were carrying was a spear. The resource pack also gave us a chance to do some crazy tricks to make "custom" blocks. For example you've probably seen some darker stone, cobblestone, and stone brick blocks around the game. We use monster eggs for those.

The main problem with not being able to load it is the automatic installation, which can sometimes crash Minecraft even when you're not on an old computer or something. Not sure why that happens though. But the good news is the pack is 16x16 so once it's installed there shouldn't be too many issues.
