World Add A Toggle Command To The Resource Pack Messages

Hello, Wynncraft people, as many of you know, I don't use the resource pack from the server because it doesn't work. You see, because of this, the game spams me about my resource pack, I'm playing the game like a normal player with my resource pack, except I'm getting spammed once every 20 seconds with that long message. This restricts what servers I can play on because I have to find one that does spam me.

So there are two options I want to give to you guys to help me out here:

A /toggle add on that toggles the message that spams me.

Or only send the message once, when I log on, sending it to me a ton is really annoying.





I'm just saying, the message is really annoying and having it send to me didn't help when my resource pack wasn't working, and certainly doesn't do anything now, especially since my resource pack is working.

 

Normally the server resource pack should work, but maybe you have problems with your internet or PC so you can't.
There are many Players out there which want such an option but this message is only to tell you that it would be better with the pack so i don't think this will be added

 

Clearly you haven't been around enough to hear my issue.

3-4 months ago, my pack stopped working, so I set off to fix it, nothing worked, the link didn't help in any way.

Then @Moe_Ronickah came and got the pack to work by having me download It and then use it as a normal resource pack.


Because of this, Wynncraft spams me, and finding servers that don't spam me is painful.


Let's think for a second here, how would YOU feel if you spent 3 months without the pack, and then when it finally works, the game still spams you every 20 seconds with a long message telling you how to fix it. This makes the game hard to play, and playing with this message is painful. You must be extremely insensible to what has happened to me with the pack.

2. like i said i know from this issue a friend of mine stoped playing because of the message spam but i don't think this command will be added since it is there to help people, for this reason i think they say that this spamming is ok

 

You don't think something will be added because it will help people? Wut.

 

he said the message telling you that you have to use the resource pack is there to help people, he didn't say anything about what you just said

 

That makes you even more inconsiderate about other's issues than before.

It stops being helpful when it becomes spam. Plus, he inferred it by saying that his friend had the issue, he's just inconsiderate of what others need to enjoy the game.

That's how I read it too.

 

my point is that i think this will not be added because in my opinion there are Devs in the Team that take this as casualties

He is not inconsidarate you are just hurt and don't like that he doesn't have the same opinion as you, you made a suggestion so you have to be able to handle the criticism, he is just showing his point of view, nowhere in his comments he has tried to offend you or as you just said on the shoutbox ''complained about my amazing idea''.

It was sarcastic, ik my idea sucks. He has offended me in the comments by not caring about my position with the spam, he's one of the people who just don't care.

@Ackro please confirm there are people in the content team who would take people leaving because of spam as a shrugged off casualty.

OK, we have direct evidence that the failure of the resource pack to properly load has made people quit WynnCraft. This is NOT good. We also know that if someone dls the resource pack, and gives it to someone who can't get it to dl, that the other person can play WynnCraft with the resource pack, just fine. We also know that the server cannot tell that someone has dled the resource pack, and has it working, even though they can't dl it through the server. That is the situation that BlahBlah is in. For him, and for people like him, there should be a switch to turn off the server message concerning dling the resource pack. Why should we care if someone doesn't dl the resource pack, who could dl it, no matter what consequences they bring onto themselves? A simple, short, message, "Without the resource pack, the game will not visually make sense", every 2 minutes or so, is enough. People like BlahBlah, who needed to dl the resource pack separately, then add it to their game, should not be punished with message spam. In fact, the resource pack should be downloadable on the website, so that it is kept updated, for people in BlahBlah's situation, in my opinion. This entire issue, including BlahBlah's getting upset, is due to his frustration, over a period of several months, of being unable to play WynnCraft, until I came up with a solution for him to try. Now that he has it working, he's getting spammed, and he shouldn't be, because the server can't tell that he is running the resource pack. The toggle notice can even be set to fire ONCE per login, so that when the issue is fixed on the WynnCraft side, the player's will suddenly not get the notice, because the resource pack is finally downloading for them.

Now, please, BlahBlah, cool off. Take a deep breath. With this thread, your idea and request should come to the admin's notice. (I know that they know about the issue of the pack not dling - it can't have escaped their notice.)

I don't think that anyone leaving is casual in any way. Neither do I think anyone in CT disagrees. It is important that our game works for pretty much everyone, and I would surely like to consider your suggestion.

 

I think a website link that gives a direct download on the website for the resource pack would be a useful alternative in fixing the pack. That would truly help people get their resource pack working.

 

I think that could be very handy, as well as only having the message show up once.

 

If that were a choice on the website my resource pack would have been fixed 3 months ago.

 

Please. I've had to download the resource pack since about a week after Gavel, and the spam I get from not having the pack is... aggravating. Even if it's just a bit of an annoyance, I'd rather have it not there so I can see if something important happens in the server chat. Right now, I mostly ignore it.

 

It's hard to ignore when you're trying to talk using the chat.
