Please Disable Need To Use The Resource Pack

As many others know, and I am very angry about (I know from comments in-game from others), the fact that Wynncraft forces its users to use its resource pack is very frustrating, and I hope to get the staff's notice about our disapproval. Please let us use our own resource packs, please.

 

The problem is that many items and weapons are slabs and stairs blocks. It would make no sense whatsoever to have no pack turned on.

 

Just my opinion right? I don't want to hold some kind of black carpet daggers. It's quite weird, I prefer a texture on it. Maybe it's frustrating sometimes, but you should give examples of how it may frustrate you so we can support you easier :P

 

I'm actually a long-term user of the server (took a several months break), and I remember a time you had a less intrusive resource pack, though. One where I could clearly understand what the items were, but still have basically the same resource pack. What happened to that?

 

We've never had a resource pack until now, When Gavel was released. I have no idea what pack you may be referring to, but it sounds like a fan-made pack. With the introduction of Gavel we've been given different textures for different tiers and types of weapons. Each type has it's own special texture that needs a separate item for each type.

 

Don't want a resource pack? There is an option in servers to disable resource pack. I believe on your server list, click edit on your Wynncraft and you can disable it. But the game looks really weird without the texture pack.

Wynncraft doesn't allow me to go on the server without resource packs disabled, though. That's why I made this thread in the first place.

 

Why would you want to go without a resource pack? As captainganon said above, it is shit mode.

 

Hmm well seems I like I need to recap you on what happened. Last December, the Gavel Update was released (yes, that update). With it came a major change to gameplay. New weapons, increased level cap, new element/stat system, identification system, more quests, an official resource pack, bigger map and much much more. I would say Wynncraft looks more like it's own MMORPG.

Now in terms of the types of weapons, it's still the same. There are Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and a new one: Mythic. Mythics are basically very high levelled weapons and armor which are stronger and rare than your average Legendary.

They have also added elements to the game. Earth/Thunder/Water/Fire/Air which correspond to each stat Str/Dex/Int/Def/Agi respectively. With that, there was a massive overhaul in weapons/armor. Now weapons/armor have so many different stat changes and stuff. So there are now weapons that deal damage in a certain element. So, they made a model for each classes' weapons for each element in 4 variations. (The variations have nothing to do with gameplay, it's just that they look differently. Like higher leveled weapons that specialize in the same element look stronger than those of a lower level)

 

Seriously, who would want their Mythic look like a stone wall?

 

If it hit a mob like the proverbial brick wall, go for it! Otherwise, nope, nope, nope, nope. When the resource pack didn't load, I still got dropped ingame, I just logged out, closed MC, and started all over. Having weapons look like fences was not my idea of funny. "Oh? What's that stupid vanilla item doing in my inventory? I'll just throw it into the lava over here." Tfw it wasn't a fence, it was your Mythic weapon. Nope.

 

Sorry, but not only are there eighty textures as others have already implied, as you progress you will notice that many areas (such as Death's realm and it's greyscale land and Shattered Minds with it's rainbow blocks) use specific textures. Spikes will be redstone repeaters, there will be sponges, bricks, and other things strewn about the landscape. What do you not like about the pack anyways?

 

You can run in "Shit mode" you just get spammed. Also the reason i'm all for this is so you can copy the texture pack from server-resource-packs (legacy) And add .zip to the end, paste it in Resource packs and BAM you only need to load the game once, none of this shitty loading resource pack every time you switch servers. Its bloody amazing save the chat being spammed to the max. Hell, maybe you can edit the texture pack in the server-resource-packs folder? Or replace it with vanilla? The question is does it check only the file name or do some sort of hash check?

hell you know what, I have seen many threads to stop this spam so they can use custom textures, i don't even want that. i just want faster loading by using the wynncraft pack in the resource pack folder rather then the server side one! I may as well make my own one specifically for using only the official pack, just as a resource pack.

 

I'm considering making a version of the respurce pack that just makes the 3D Weapons 2D for people with bad computers, It'll take a while though.

 

Let me ask you a question. Why are you frustrated with the texture pack? Other people think it's great

 

ikr besides my bow it doesn't load the texture pack so i am holding a slab and shooting arrows it looks weird as hell

 

Pros:
-May make game run faster
-Less loading times
-Mobs will hoard and kill you while you're loading less
Cons:
-Game looks like absolute crap
-You will confuse items for useless junk a lot
-Terrain makes no sense
-Items make no sense
-Constant chat spam of resource pack recommendation

 

Well, I don't have anything particularly against THIS texture pack, exactly, as much as the fact I'M FORCED to use it. I want the capability to choose my own resource packs... that's all. Nothing much :/
