    With the new 1.9 update comes Shields and Duel wielding. I think this opens up new frontiers of exploration for Wynncraft.
    I understand that Jumla and the coders will take time to adapt to 1.9, but as a general suggestion, I think Shields should be added. With the same mechanics as armor

    [Lv 70]
    Bob's Ancient Shield
    Nullifies 70% damage?
    +15% walk speed?
    +55% health regen?
    +1/4s mana regen?

    That's just my idea, might be unbalanced and all, but I think wynncraft should add shields (or you could name it something else)

    And with a Defense of 40-50 you'de literally take no damage.

    Great idea! I think that Shields would be a great future addition to Wynncraft and would add more customization and versatility options to classes.

    I think shields would be great, and there may be different types of shields (small shields give you less defense but don't give any negative effects, heavy shields provide you with lots of defense but bad walking speed, etc.)

    Okay. First off, it's going to be a really long while before Wynn updates to 1.9 as there are more problems than opportunities. They didn't even update to 1.8 until Gavel. And 1.8 didn't have as much changes. 1.9 does, as the dual wielding has to be removed somehow.

    the thing is that the second hand activates if the off hand item has a right click item when the main hand item doesn't have one. if your main hand item has uses for both clicks you wont be able to use it for spells or use your off hand item. if your main item has only a left click function you wont be able to use it for spells as the right click will trigger the off hand item (if it has a right click function).if your main item has only a left click function you will be able to cast spells but you wont be able to use your off hand item (if it doesn't have a right click function).if your main item has a right click function you will be able to cast spells but wont be able to use a off hand item. what can happen is because we are using blocks as weapons now we have the possibility for 8 spells (rrr rrl rlr rll lll llr lrl lrr) so we can use the 4 extra options for the off hand spells (they will still be triggered through the main hand item tho), so we can have a secondary weapon for each class.

    Cool idea, but i dont think you must get a positive walk speed bonus with a shiel tho, seems more logical to me.
    Btw, what if elytra was added? :p

    Well flying, even for 7 minutes will probably break the game. However maybe they could modify it and make it like wings or something.

    I would imagine they gave it high jump boost properties. No gliding or anything. More of a "fly up" thing.

    Extra walk speed by holding a shield doesn't make sense. Shields are heavy, so if anything they would lower speed.
    Maybe shields could be added, though I'm not sure how this would affect the game. But we should at least wait until Wynncraft wants to fully convert to 1.9.

    Holding a weapon, which is heavy, e.g. a spear, also gives you movement speed in Wynncraft >^<

    Well, it depends on the spear. For example, a heavy earth based spear is usually going to have negative walk speed. But then an air spear might do the opposite, because it is air related. But having all your normal armour, your weapon, all those items you have in your inventory, AND a shield, is going to weigh a lot.

    Hey this is a decent idea, but a damage block based on percentage would be incredibly overpowered. If wynncraft does add shields to the game, I propose a system where the new shield item blocks a static amount of damage relating to how much damage mobs at that level do.

    For example, a very early shield would block only 1-2 damage, but a really good level 70 shield would block around 150 damage.

    Each shield would need to have some pretty heavy drawbacks to prevent them from being really game changing and more of just an optional thing. (-2 attack speed tiers, -20% walk speed, other sensible negative attributes.)

    I personally do not agree with adding shields to wynncraft, but if they are added I think that this would be the best way to go. (At least for now)

    I was thinking about shields and what I came up with is something like...

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Fire Shield (rare)

    +500 (Shield symbol [Meaning absorbs health while active ( Holding R-Click).])
    X2 Fire (Shield symbol)

    lvl 50

    (Extra stats go here)

    When fully charged it will release a burst of fire energy dealing 300 Fire damage (AOE)

    Sorry if it is unbalanced I am still a low level.

    Uh... Was I suppose to read all that?

    Anyways to simplify yuno's answer, there would be no right-click funtion making it hard for archers to shoot and hard for other classes to do their spells.

    I think it is a good idea, but the stats have to be balanced well!
