Recently, @BeeMiner made a good point that the rules are not displayed in the hub. It's also true that any long time player will ignore the red server-wide messages after a while. So, I thought of something when I read BeeMiner's post, and I suggested it in my response. I'm also putting it here, because I would like feedback from the rest of the community.

I would like to see a front page added to the quest guide with links to the rules, the "help" page of the site, and the map page, at a minimum. This way, new players will see that those pages exist. I don't know what would be involved in using the quest guide book for this, so if I'm nuts, just say so. Also, if it is possible, could the first page of the guide book be used to post important messages, like "Check the Rules - they have been updated" or "Check the map for recent updates". If not, how about saying "Check the Rules for recent updates" and "Check the map for recent updates"?

    What do you all think?

I know that the wynncraft.com front page has "News" and "Home" tabs which display messages like "Rules update" but i did not have a chance to explore link from there. It was late & i was having a long day -- murderous time -- with all sorts of in-game shenanigans.

Yes, be explicit about "Rules Update -- see here ..." in hub because new players could get introduced to game by being led into the game with existing player friend (like when I first did 6 months ago). Existing players who are non forum members should get flagged at those ^^ various quest/help/map pages. Thanks!

a quest book is a quest book, its not meant for rules or notes, its your quests. and most rules apply to every single server, they arent hard to learn, or follow, its just common sense.

Having a bunch of links on the front page of an important item ruins the immersion.

What can i say... Ultimately its up to the admins to decide how to inform non-forum members. All we did was pose it to the forums community and hopefully some ideas will satisfy most. I still think the hub is best place coz most servers have their rules there before players begin their RPG.

With the problem being that not everyone that plays the game also reads the forums.

I understand you want to put the rules somewhere in game, but the quest book is probably not the best place to put them.

I was trying to think of a place where rules and information could be placed, and not avoided to be seen. Where is the one place that anyone who plays will always look? Well, the red admin notices apparently get ignored by some. Even in the quest book, some people will ignore them, too. I understand that having them in the quest book may break the immersions for some players, but they need to be somewhere where players will see them. I've added a third option - A link in Server Pick page in the lobby. Look at it this way - if you were brand new to the idea of servers in MineCraft, and you came upon WynnCraft, what would grab your attention the most to know that rules to follow, maps, and help was available?

There is no reasonable excuse for not reading a server's rules. Unless you're under 12 years old. Unless your over 12 years old. Unless you are 12 years old. Unless a friend drags you into WynnCraft because they are so darn excited to play it, themselves.

I like your third option - alongside with the Service pick (compass icon) and lobby pick (clock icon) there could be a separate icon that links player to the Rules (in whichever form most efficient).

My idea: Ragni King will give you book / item that will links player to Rules
There will be also merchant in Ragni's castle( maybe next to the enter) that will sell it for 3E
