Hi everyone! I'm about to post my first quest idea ever, so I really don't mind if you point out all the bad stuff, because I'd like to get better and better at this and maybe make quest posting a thing of mine. For clarification, the default colour will be for 'me speaking' - something that the quest itself wont actually say but what I say to inform you. Coloured green text is for the dialogue of the NCPs, and grey and red text is what the game would say to show interactions and restrictions, respectively. Oh, also, anything written in a purple should be obfuscated. You'll see. ;>
Also, I decided to put all the Mob Descriptions in spoiler boxes, just because with my format they take up a lot of space, and some people only like reading the dialogue.
<>Also please note that I've had to re-write this at least 3 times by now, so I'm terribly sorry for any grammar and spelling mistakes<>

    Quest Name: The Fallen Knight
    Level Requirement: 71
Location of Starting NCP: In one of the abandoned houses near the great bridge, found HERE! (The house would be patched up slightly, but still look somewhat abandoned.)
    Previous Requirements: None

Attempting to start the quest before the level requirement:
[1/1] Azri: Greetings, adventurer! I'd love for you to stay and have a chat, but I'm actually busy looking for a level 71 adventurer to help me with a predicament of mine.

Starting the quest at or above the required level:
[1/6] Azri: Salutations, adventurer! You look to be weary; sit down and I will tell you a magnificent tale.
[2/6] Azri: Not too long ago, the King of Ragni announced to all of Wynn that he was proud to release great knight who had been training in the King’s grounds would protect and serve all the people of Wynn.
[3/6] Azri: But the knight grew bored of his duties, seeking greater challenge than simple 'fetch' requests. Not evil, mind you, just simply bored.
[4/6] Azri: So he set off on an adventure, travelling all over Wynn where next to none had been before to pursue all the secrets that this world holds.
[5/6] Azri: But recently, he came to me, telling me he was about to undergo his most dangerous adventure yet. He gave me a diary of sorts, and told me to guard it for him with my life, should he ever return.
[6/6] Azri: Yet I fear he won't return, for it has been over 40... days..? since we met. I hid the book in a cave by the great mansion being built south of Nesaak. Perhaps you should receive it, adventurer, and we can find out more.

    [Quest Book Updated]
After hearing the first dialogue, the quest book says:
Go to the mansion south of Nesaak and find the hidden diary.

Speaking with Azri before receiving the diary:
[1/1] Azri: Haven't you got the diary yet, adventurer? I'm afraid I can't tell you much more without it.

A cave can be found on the map HERE which would lead down in a slight spiral, doing about a 270 degree turn and going down about 20 blocks before opening up into a medium sized room filled, and I mean filled, with Protective Spirits and a Spooky Dusty Book.

    Protective Spirit
    Visual:
Can be either a Wither Skeleton skull or a regular Skeleton skull with critical particles appearing semi-frequently around it.
    Level: 67
    Max Health: 1240
    Regeneration (Per Ten Seconds): 126
    Knockback: Next to none.
    Base Damage: 410 - 630
    Element Damage: Air
    Element Resistance: Earth, Thunder
    Element Weakness: Air
    Drops: None

    Spooky Dusty Book
    Visual:
A book and quill suspended in midair with a bunch of small explosion particles around it.
    Level: 69
    Max Health: 4600
    Regeneration (Per Ten Seconds): 2350
    Knockback: None
    Base Damage: 1080 - 1130
    Element Damage: Air
    Element Resistance: Earth
    Element Weakness: Air
    Drops: The Knight's Diary {Untradable Item}

Speaking to Azri after obtaining the diary:
[1/7] Azri: Ah, simply fabulous, adventurer! I'm sure this diary will hold the secret to why this great knight disappeared.
[2/7] Azri: Hrm, what's this? Someone must have covered this diary with dust as a joke. Youngsters these days have no respects for the gentlemanly middle aged people of this generation.
[3/7] Azri: Now then, patient adventurer, shall we traverse the secrets of this diary together?
    [4/7] Azri: ....
    [5/7] Azri: .........
[6/7] Azri: Why, I just simply can't read it! It's written in a language quite unlike anything I have read before. Absolute nonsense.
[7/7] Azri: Not to fear, adventurer, for I know a young scribe who resides in the village of Nesaak. Perhaps if you take this book to him, he will be able to translate it for you.

    [Quest Book Updated]
After hearing the second dialogue, the quest book says:
Find the scribe of Nesaak and request his help in translating the diary.

Speaking with Azri before receiving the diary:
[1/1] Azri: I'm afraid I can't read this diary at all, adventurer. Seek translation from the scribe residing in Nesaak first.

A house in Nesaak can be found HERE which would have an interior filled with lots of book cases and books. At the end of the house would be the next NPC you speak with to continue the quest.

Speaking to Dyre before giving the diary to Azri:
[1/1] Dyre: Can't you see I'm busy? Come back if you're going to actually give me something to do.

Speaking to Dyre after obtaining the diary:
[1/5] Dyre: Hrm? Are you in need of assistance, young one?
[2/5] Dyre: Translating this diary? Of course I can do that, though naturally I will need payment.
    [3/5] Dyre: .....
[4/5] Dyre: On second thought, this language is unlike anything I've translated before. I'll need some extra materials for something this complicated.
[5/5] Dyre: See if you can bring me [8 Squid Ink] and [14 Bark Paper] and maybe we can let that payment slide.

    [Quest Book Updated]
After hearing Dyre’s first dialogue, the quest book says:
Find and bring Dyre [8 Squid Ink] and [14 Bark Paper] to translate the diary.

Speaking to Dyre before obtaining the resources:
[1/2] Dyre: Have you got the materials yet? Remember, I need [8 Squid Ink] and [14 Bark Paper] to translate this diary.
[2/2] Dyre: Try looking in and around the frozen lake in the middle of Nesaak, that's where you can usually find this stuff.

Dyre’s necessary resources can be found, like he said, in and around the Frozen Lake right outside Nesaak. Maybe 1 or 2 of the trees around the lake would have the exact same shape, but would be changed to birch wood logs. At the base of this tree(s) there would be entity logs, Bark Wood Log, which would each drop about 2 or 3 [Bark Paper]. The squid ink can be found under the frozen lake by killing the various squid villagers found residing there. I won’t put down squid villager mob infos, as they already exist, but if they don’t drop anything or drop something else, they should be switched to dropping [Squid Ink].

    Bark Wood Log
    Visual:
A six sided birch tile entity block, similar to the rotting wood in Olux Swamp.
    Level: 1
    Max Health: 1480
    Regeneration (Per Ten Seconds): 14
    Knockback: None
    Base Damage: 0
    Element Damage: None
    Element Resistance: None
    Element Weakness: None
    Drops: Bark Paper

Speaking to Dyre before after the resources:
[1/5] Dyre: Good, your back. Alrighty then, hand over the materials and I’ll get to work on translating that diary.
[You wait patiently for hours as Dyre translates the diary]
[2/5] Dyre: All done then! Here is your diary, and in return for getting me those materials, it comes free of charge.
[3/5] Dyre: Some pretty cryptic stuff in there... I don’t know why you carry this around with you.
[4/5] Dyre: Ack! Not that I meant to read it, of course. I really didn’t!
[5/5] Dyre: Here, just take the diary and go.

    [Quest Book Updated]
After hearing Dyre’s second dialogue, the quest book says:
Take the translated diary back to Azri and discover the secrets it holds.

Speaking to Dyre at any time after receiving the translated diary:
[1/1] Dyre: If you haven’t got any more work for me, I would prefer if you leave me alone. I really am quite busy, you know.

Speaking to Azri after obtaining the translated diary:
[1/8] Azri: Ah, purely fabulous, adventurer! Now, shall we dive together into the depths of this diary to discover the secrets it holds? Allow me.
[Azri clears his throat in an attempted dramatic way before reading]
[2/8] Azri: To whomever I entitle this diary to,
[3/8] Azri: I have no doubt that you may have heard of me, known to most the King’s Great Knight, and how I travel the world with the goal of traversing lands where none have been before.
[4/8] Azri: But on the day on which you receive this diary, I shall be departing on my most dangerous journey yet. I have recently discovered a crack in the scorched floors underneath the great crossing between the lush jungle and the desolate tundra.
[5/8] Azri: I hear... voices.. pulling me in, taunting me to come closer, closer, closer. I have decided to brave this conundrum, but I may not return from this treacherous adventure. Which is why I have enchanted this book with the ability to preserve my soul.
[6/8] Azri: These are the most absolutely important words you shall ever read: if I do not return in 28 days, then presume me to be dead, or on the verge of dying. It is then that you must immediately send out your bravest warrior to come rescue me.
[7/8] Azri: Guard this book with your life, for it is the equivalent of mine.
[8/8] Azri: Ack! Adventurer, you must make haste, for it has been 40... days..? since he gave this diary to me. Godspeed, adventurer; if you traverse fast enough then you still may be able to restore his soul!

    [Quest Book Updated]
After hearing the diary’s contents, the quest book says:
Find the Great Knight and see if you can still save his soul.

If you attempt to speak to Azri before you find the Fallen Knight:
[1/2] Azri: You must make haste, adventurer! Perhaps you can still restore the great knight's soul! Here, I'll read his diary to you again:
[2/2] Azri: "I have recently discovered a crack in the scorched floors underneath the great crossing between the lush jungle and the desolate tundra."

This is where things get interesting. As the diary says, there will be a hole roughly at the bottom of the great bridge, somewhere by the middle circle bit. I’ll attach a screenshot so you know where I’m talking about. One of them majical ‘coal holes’ can be found there, and if you try to enter it without reading the translated diary (or starting the quest, for that matter) then you will be teleported out of it about 5 blocks away (to prevent endless falling) and presented with:

You have no reason to go down there when you don’t even know what lies ahead!

If you have completed the quest already, then, for reasons I will discuss later, the text will instead switch to:

You really shouldn’t go down there again; the chances of you surviving a second time are terribly low.

Once you go in the hole, you're teleported to a relatively bare cave path made of stone, andesite, and other classic natural stone materials, as well some bits of coal blocks here and there. This is very important: while in this cave, there are NO additional sounds except the sound of your footsteps, and your spell cast “ding”. No music. (If possible) No sound effects of your bomb arrows’ explosions or the pshshshshshs sound of your uppercut. Silence. Anyways, as you walk along, you encounter this dialogue, timed out so that the last line puts you above another ‘coal hole’ which takes you to the boss room:

[1/6] ???: I know you’ve come to save me, human. Come to save the Great Knight of Wynn.
[2/6] The Fallen Knight: But you’re too late. 40 years I’ve been here, left alone to die. FOURTY! YEARS!!
[?/?] The Great Knight: DoN’t GivE uP huMaN. YOu Can StIlL saVe mE.
[3/6] The Fallen Knight: The voices. They pulled me closer, closer, closer. They consumed me. IT consumed me.
[4/6] The Fallen Knight: The Desolation. Every last living thing in Wynn will pay for the troubles they have caused me. Every last being will be sacrificed to The Desolation, and the world will be still.
[?/?] The Great Knight: KiLl mE HumAn. kiLL Me. ENd mY maDNesS. TakE My LifE.
[5/6] The Fallen Knight: They will all die. All die to the power of The Desolation and I will take it all. Everyone will perish.
[6/6] The Fallen Knight: Starting with you.
[?/?] The Great Knight: KIiLllLlLl MeEEeeEeEEEe!

After you hear this spooky dialogue (is it spooky enough? Iz 3 spooky 5 me m8s) you can enter another ‘coal hole’ which will teleport you to the boss room, where you will fight The Fallen Knight. The actually layout of the boss room is kind of complicated, but you’ll see why in a minute. First, I’ll present you with an overview map so you get a general sense of idea:

So, as the map shows, the boss room is two circular rings connected with a plus sign, with a bit sticking out to the North, which you’ll find out why later. The actual type of building should be a structure VERY similar to the Great Bridge, in terms of width, depth, and design. The floor of the room (everything black, basically) should just be coal blocks, again I’ll explain why later. As the guide suggests, the green dot is where the player is teleported into the room, the orange dot is where the boss spawns a few seconds later, and the yellow dot is where one of the majical ‘coal holes’ is. (I’m intentionally not telling you where it goes, just keep reading) The entire scene would be surrounded by a massive chasm made as the same materials discussed before, as well as some glowstone blocks stuck in the wall behind some black and grey stained glass blocks, so that there is a source of light while you’re fighting. It should be noted that the walls have to be far enough, or built at such an angle, or through some plugin wizardry, that you can’t use a mobility spell to sit on the wall and just safely whack away at the boss. So, without further ado, I present The Fallen Knight:

    The Fallen Knight
Visual: A zombie in full chain armour, minus the helmet which should instead be a player head simmiliar to those of the Ragni knights you encounter in the cave before you meet the king. He will be holding an iron sword, and all of his take damage and deal damage sound effects should mirror that of a player. He will have black particles around his feet that leave a short trail (<5 blocks) whenever he runs around.
    Level: 95
    Max Health: 12800
    Regeneration (Per Ten Seconds): 3625
    Knockback: Next to none
    Base Damage: 400 - 1900
    Element Damage: Earth, Fire
    Element Resistance: Earth
    Element Weakness: Air, Water
Spells: Duplicate – Every 30 seconds, The Fallen Knight will make a clone of itself, which has 5% of its current health and only deals 10% damage. These clones should be very quick and easy to kill, but it’s important to kill them quick, as when the original Fallen Knight creates another clone 30 seconds later, any clones still alive will make a copy of themselves too, but their health will be based of the ORIGINAL boss, not the lower health clone. The clones will be called The Fake Night, and they won’t make any trails, making it easy for you to identify them. Long story short, kill clones quickly.
    Drops: None

In this boss fight, I’ve decided to include something which I’ll go ahead and call ‘event spells’ – spells that affect the boss fight battle ground, and don’t actually come from the boss itself. In this case, The Fallen Knight is assisted by the Desolation’s hand of destruction, which will randomly mark and destroy sections of the bridge. Every minute, a random bridge is covered in white particles, and I mean covered - it needs to be apparent that that area is about to die. After about ten seconds, and explosion thingy comes from the roof of the chasm all the way down to the marked bridge section, causing it to explode. This bridge is permanently destroyed for the rest of the battle, creating a unique and strategy orientated fight experience. Although what specific individual section the boss should destroy is random, there is a ‘section order’ to the randomness. The four outer ring sections will always die first, followed by the inner ring sections. Then, all cross sections, except the north one, will die. and you will be left on a 50 blockish long bridge to fight on. However, if any point during the fight you fall down or die during the fight, then you are teleported to inside Azri's house, and can talk to him to end the quest and receive your altered reward. It is important to note that you intentionally get only one chance to fight this guy, as depending on whether you kill him on not decides what quest reward you get.

If you manage kill The Fallen Knight, you can enter the coal hole and leave the room. It should be noted that only one person can actually fight the boss at any given time, {I actually need suggestions as how to make this feel nice} and every time a new boss fight starts, the whole room is reset. You are then teleported back to outside Azri's house, where you can go in and talk to him to end the quest.

If you fail to kill The Fallen Knight:
[1/7] Azri: Ah, blessed be, your awake!
[2/7] Azri: Dear adventurer, you simply fell from the sky and landed right in my establishment. I do hope your quite well, it would be a horror to see such a brave adventurer die in my sights.
[3/7] Azri: I do hope you managed to restore the poor knights soul?
    [4/7] Azri: ....
[5/7] Azri: Ah. I follow. Do not be dismayed, adventurer, for I will have someone inform the powers of Troms about this predicament.
[6/7] Azri: Here, allow me to reward you for the efforts you put into this daunting task. It had slipped my mind earlier, but the Great Knight must have dropped this ring when he visited me a time ago.
[7/7] Azri: I cannot thank you enough for the problems you have resolved for me.

If you manage to kill The Fallen Knight:

[1/6] Azri: Ah, welcome back to my establishment, adventurer!
[2/6] Azri: I do hope you managed to restore the poor knights soul?
    [3/6] Azri: ....
[4/6] Azri: Ah. Simply wonderful, adventurer. The world is a safer place now that you have put an end to this would be dictator.
[5/6] Azri: Here, allow me to reward you for the efforts you put into this daunting task. It had slipped my mind earlier, but the Great Knight gifted me this fabulous ring when he visited me that time ago.
[6/6] Azri: I cannot thank you enough for the problems you have resolved for me, and for the rest of Wynn.

But legit great idea. I never heard anything like it! Its multi-ending but you don't choose the ending.

I agree with the use of desolation

    ---

Oh, and it sounds like a setup for a series of quests. Why else would you get a quest item? ;)

Sounds like a great quest! I'd love to see something like this actually work.
I think the way they would be able to do the 'event spell' would be to have it on a timer. So basically, after let's say a minute, the bridge collapses.

    This is truly amazing.
But I don't get the ending, would you get two different rewards, or what? xD

And how did Azri get 40 years to 40 days?
    I'm so confused >->

I can answer both (Dnl is probobly working on the next one already)

You only fight the boss once. If you beat him you get one ending and a reward, if you loose you get a different ending and a lesser version of the item. You also get the same quest item both times.

    Second question:

He has trouble processing time. Like you know how he says "someone must have covered it in dust as a joke"

    Thats another clue.

I told Dnl to put him in time valley to make it more clear, but he wanted to keep it all in the Nessak area. I see why

(Sorry for awnsering for Dnl, I know it's his thing, its just I know the answer and hes not on right now)

I just want to verify that SPYROHAWK is completely right; I've been busy today but we discussed this before hand so you can trust his judgement. As for the passing time thing, I wanted to make it apparent that he's muddled up / forgotten about time and as such I included references that time passed a lot faster than he realized:
"I hid the book in a cave by the great mansion being built south of Nesaak" - The house of twain is CLEARLY completely finished for now, and has been for a long time.
"Someone must have covered this diary with dust as a joke."
"..for I know a young scribe who resides in the village of Nesaak." - The villager for the scribe would be the oldest looking one possible.
I tried to include pointers that time has passed faster than Azri thought all over the place.

Something to point out about the mobs. Their health and damage were buffed in the update. Level ~65 and ~70 mobs don't have 600 health anymore, it's closer to 2-3k. Damage is around 300-500.
    Otherwise, pretty well-done quest.
[1/3] The One-eyed Guy: Oh, and one more thing...
[2/3] The One-eyed Guy: The quest text numbers, before the name? They're grey.
[3/3] The One-eyed Guy: And after you've typed with colored text, don't select black. It doesn't go well with us dark-themers. Highlight that text and click the "None" button, will ya? Thanks!

seriously? it's quite obvious if this is ever added somehow, directly or indirectly, they won't spell it as "night"

Thanks for the heads up. I've changed the colour of the black text to "none", but actually due to character limits I'm not able to change the colour of the quest text numbers. Also I've rebalanced the mobs, thanks for giving me the info, because when I compared my mobs to the wiki they looked okey but when I compared it to the game they looked way off.
