Frost Bitten Is Too Difficult

I am a warrior with 2002 health and I am doing the Frost Bitten quest, wich seems to have changed. I cannot get the 5 Pure Ice Shards at all, as there are always dozens of mobs waiting for me near the ToA. The mobs may be easy to kill as an archer, but as a warrior, you need to get up close to the mobs and then kill them. When there are 50 mobs standing around, you easily take a ton of damage, some of wich you can't avoid, because there are archers too. I only need 5 shards, but if I could kill all the mobs near ToA, something I can't do, I would get around 50 of those shards.

I could of course try the quest again at a higher level, but the quest is supposed to be possible to do at lvl 48.

"Why don't you just lure one mob to you and kill them at a safe place?" That would be a great solution, if only the mobs didn't despawn when I hitted them (the villagers do that too btw) and if there actually were good safe places in the Ice Canyon, because all caves are filled with monsters and mobs can spawn in Lusuco.

 

Just charge around, or use mana and health pots if you really don't want to die while still killing at the same time. The charge spell is quite effective to avoid the barrages of hundreds of projectiles coming at you there.

 

I still have to collect the loot, plus the monsters there have ~3000 health, last time I checked.

 

It's not even that hard, I did it when I was lvl enough for the quest as my knight and I was fine.

 

i did it as a lvl 90 mage, it was really easy.. i wonder why.

 

How long ago? All mob damage and health has been revamped.

It should be easily completable, unless one of two things happened, neither of which I have any control over any longer.
1) The Frost Golems/Glacial Golems got buffed, or the mobs around the ToA got buffed
2) Your current build is too weak

I'm not exactly banking on either situation, but other than that, there shouldn't be all that much difficulty killing those mobs and getting those Pure Ice Shards.

It was definitely a buff to the mobs. The projectile mobs which compose of more than half of them there shoot somewhat rapidly and do lots of damage in one hit.

 

Ah, that's right.
Ranged mobs were buffed heavily during the Gavel update.

 

They should honestly nerf them now. I've lost so many emeralds because of all the pots I use against ranged mob floors in the Hive and ToA

 

Lmao you didn't lost them , you SPEND them .

Well either way, emeralds are gone and I'm poor as hell

 

I find it helps to bring a Mage and save potions for when you really need them, like when you can't wait for a heal spell.

 

I'm usually a solo player, and not many of my friends are Mages, so I really rely on pots.

 

My point is that the Gavel update make potion better for a reason , if you don't want to spend so much on emerald then switch to mage or do quest with one .

I misunderstood what you meant.

 

1.Maybe try to lure one of Them out at a time
2.shoot Them with war scream

 

If anything, get more pots like Health, Mana, Strength, and Defense. Or just wait, level up higher, get a better build, then do the quest. If I can do Wynn Ex. Site D at only 2 levels higher than the quest level min, then you can do Frost Bitten 2 levels higher than the level min.
