Important: Rename Certain Bugged Weapons/armor!

This thread address a problem that has been around for quite a while now, and I'm making this thread to bring more attention to it so that it may be fixed, along with announcing what causes the problem to those that do not know. (At least, this is what I think causes it based on my observations.)

There are a few weapons/armor pieces within the game that have special characters/letters that are not from the English language. For example, the "Ik-El-Van" has a tilde over the "a", and looks like this:


The problem with these different characters, however, is that they bug the weapon/armor piece, which then makes it completely unusable. Here is what it looks like after it bugs out:

It reverts the weapon back to a normal looking spear, and takes away the stats! Obviously, it looks like the code that was used to give the weapon its stats in the first place.
The Ik-El-Van cannot use any abilities now, the mana regen doesn't work, has a default attack speed, and does 1 damage.

About 2 weeks ago, all you had to do was log onto a different server, and it would change back to normal. Some servers would work while others would not. As time passed, it eventually wouldn't work for any of the servers, and the item then becomes useless.

What I suggest for this is to change the name so that it uses only English letters, or if possible, adding these characters to the code so that it may work. I'm not that experienced in java, so I am not sure if the latter would work though. Either way, this is an important issue that must be fixed, since it has been happening to many people. I love my Ik-El-Van, and hope that I could one day get a new one when they are working again. (Because of the no refund policy.)

EDIT: Yes, I have submitted a bug report for this a long time ago, nothing has changed yet.

It is not the letters from none english language that does that lol.
It is simply the code where there is a few errors. The gear itself should work perfectly fine, it just doesn't show the stats of the gear.

As for the problem that actually causes it, I'm pretty sure it's the characters, since it ONLY happens to those that have them.

 

My health potion works perfectly.

I've noticed that before, but the potions still fix their name if you move them around, or at least have for me before.

KEEP IN MIND, that those are potions, and not other weapons/armors that I am talking about.

 

the characters have nothing to do with these kinds of things, usually code errors alot and due to the fact that wynncraft uses its own code for the armour stats may just mess up. take in the fact that if special characters always affected code i wouldn't be able to put this -> 你好

 

That's because this is a different situation, and I never said always... This isn't ingame. I only said that it's the characters because the only things it's happening to are the weapons/armor that have different characters.

EDIT: Regardless, focus on what the thread is about in the first place, what it's affected by doesn't matter, it was just a hunch.
