The Dislike Button

Shouldn't there be a dislike button, i mean, im pretty sure this community is mature enough to handle a dislike button, If it doesn't get added, im gonna make a vote saying: dislike button, and the option will be the dislike button, to know if u guys disliked, if you want you can do the same.

 

Your poll is misleading. If you tell people to select the "dislike" option you're technically telling everyone that you want your idea to be disliked.

But yes, I agree but I think there should be a variety of liking someone's post for example, "informative," or "helpful."

You're essentially suggesting for a way to release negativity on the forums, and we don't need to provoke negativity on here... I feel like more harm than good would result.

This can be easily abused, and will create toxicity and negativity around these forums, and we wouldn't want that, would we?

Ever since the Hype Pickle forums introduced a dislike button all the toxic assholes in town started abusing it. It's better to just have likes.

 

Basically, facebook.

 

I once thought this was a good idea. That was because it was fine on a forums I used to go on with like 10 people on at a time and server only ever had about 2000 go on it ever (at least, at the time I was on it). But then I saw the Hypixel forums. What is pretty much the most popular and original minecraft server (it beats Mineplex most of the time now, finally people woke up) has a forums which is mostly good. But about 10% of Hypixel are bad (better than Mineplex with 99%). These 10% you don't see often, but on those forums people dislike or like just because someone else did. I see a bit of that here with likes, though not often, and I really don't want to see a dislike button make that worse.

Also, that poll is either biased towards the idea or you want to get bad feedback through that poll. Not sure which...

 

If you don't like something, don't use the like-button.
It is as simple as that

On a serious note: It's simply a copy of the rating system on the Hypixel forums. It would be nice to express your opinion here much easier with a dislike button, but it would just be used negatively, and, eventually, the Wynncraft forums will become the Hypixel forums: salt central.

 

I say no because it just tends to cause negativity on other forums. Maybe a disagree button, or informative, creative, etc.

oh we can handle it all right, but not everyone is a part of "we" in fact, I don't think "we" have a majority in the forums, there are more of "them" than "we".
no need to introduce a dislike button to the forums, if someone doesn't like something he better comment and explain why he doesn't like it, I don't want any baseless hate here.

 

I will explain why a dislike button comes with negativity.
With a dislike button, you can say that you do not like something very easily without giving any reason to why you do not like it.
Anonymous dislike buttons are some of the worst.

Since there is a "Like" button, there is alredy some sort of a "dislike" button.

Let's say that someone comes up with a suggestion, and then I reply to that suggestion why I think it is bad.
Now, if someone likes my reply, that means he agrees with me wich means he also dislikes the suggestion. Wich means that he basically "disliking" the suggestion.

This way of doing things are way more "healthy" since instead of just downvoting a suggesting without giving a reason why. You're upvoting an argument wich explains why the suggestion is bad.
