There's no way around it. The current economy system is clumsy and slow. Taking up three bank spaces for different emerald denominations doesn't make sense. Here, then, is a new and improved system.

    Banking:
+Players now have a total number that is their emerald balance, which displays as the title of the ender chest that is the bank.

    For example,

    Red_Fox_Rogue's bank: 42080 emeralds

+Banks now have a slot in the top left. Any number of any denomination of emeralds can be dropped here to make a deposit.

+Emerald merchants now have 6 buttons (1 emerald, 32 emeralds, 1 EB, 32 EB, 1LE, 16LE) that allow players to make withdrawals.

    Shops:
+Shops now function like the identifier in that the cost of the item in emeralds is subtracted from total items in the inventory, and then redistributed. This replaces the old item trading system, though obviously merchants with non-emerald prices will remain the same

+Item Buyers now function like the identifier in that up to eight items can be traded at once and upon clicking the checkmark, the emerald total will be returned in the highest possible denominations.

    Player Trading:

I had a similar idea, but @DatNarwhalLuke put it much better than I could. His thread can be found here.

To clarify a few points of his idea:

+"Trade Stalls" will be located in Detlas, Selchar, Llevigar, Gelibord, Thanos, and Ahmsord. Items on offer at these locations will remain autonomous; you cannot access items on offer from Selchar from Gelibord, for example. Items more than 5 levels above the suggested level of the city are not permitted. (Though non-equipment items can be sold from anywhere)

+A player may have up to 9 items on offer at each location. Each stall by default has one available slot, and from there they will cost. Detlas slots will cost 16 EB, Selchar 32, Llevigar 1 LE, Gelibord 1.5, Thanos 3, and Ahmsord 5

+Items to trade are set by placing the item in the left side of an interface, and its cost in emeralds to the right. Upon confirming, the "cost" will be returned to the inventory of the seller.

+A buyer may search items by name, type, or level (Items as well as equipment may be sold). The items stats, as well as its cost in emeralds are displayed upon mouse-over. Buying is a simple left-click to select an item, and another left-click to confirm.

+THESE TRANSACTIONS ARE HANDLED THROUGH THE NEW BANK SYSTEM. Emeralds will be subtracted from the buyers balance and added to the seller's.

+A seller can take an item off the market by simply returning it to their inventory from the 9-slot interface

That's about it. Let me know anything that needs changing, and hopefully we can borrow some of the Dev's precious time to update our economy:)

Also, thanks (apparently) to @Nano_Chen for inspiring the shop idea in a manner so stealthy I didn't even know he did it until he pointed it out.

Wow that's just a great idea. Actually you make more something like an econemy with these idea's. Hope the team will read this, and just put it in the game as quick as they can!

I want my item buyer to be like the item identifier. Where I confirm the sale and can sell multiple items at once.

That's the goal. The system should be as streamlined as possible. Any unnecessary clicks directly reduce the efficacy of the economy.

You know how hard this is? Changing the name of the chest interface depending on lore of item and the number of it?

    1. I'm not expecting it to update instantly, it will require a refresh of the GUI. That aside, I have designed a fairly simple system with command blocks that reports the number of items in the title of the chest. It only works up to stack as of now, though, since I was too lazy to use scripts to make a billion command blocks. All that aside, I think that either this system or some comparable one should function reasonable well with plugin power.

OOH! another idea. What if, in the bank, there was one checkmark block in the top left that displayed the current balance in the lore? That'd probably be easier to code. It would take two chest slots, but meh.

I like the idea of having the merchants be able to use any currency, but that's about it. If we were to add the stalls, it would make the trading section of the forums useless. And as for the emeralds in the bank, I really hate that part. I usually don't say hate, this this I truly do. Why? Because in wynncraft you get physical items as currency, not just another scoreboard objective increased when you kill mobs. It feels more minecrafty and less comouterized. If we were to make everything virtual, I really feel like a lot of players would not like the feel of it.

    1. Why does the trade section of the forums need to have a use? If there's a better system available, then why not use it?
    2. The trade section is also still useful. Why? It's free. You can sell more than 9 items. The in-game system is faster, but has restrictions.

Sorry, maybe I need to clarify the bank thing. Emeralds still drop as items, and other than the player trading, physical emeralds are still used. The only place where the numerical value is in use is inside the bank and between players in trades. Because in the end I agree with you. It needs that physical drop feel. However, storage in banks becomes tedious. Trades also must work through this system because that emerald number can never be full. If it were for actual emeralds, someone could over-fill your bank while you were offline, leading to you losing emeralds.
