    I want to clarify that I'm not saying get rid of "unidentified items." But I think some items should already be identified such as items you get from completing a quest, like Gregg'r skin from Green-Skinned Trouble (I think) or items you buy from a merchant, like the ghostly armor merchant, just for an example. But I do think all rare, unique, etc. items dropped by mobs should stay as unidentified items initially.

    It's not really expensive, so I don't think it's really necessary.

    Stock armor/Weapons are technically unkdentified.

    Anyways, this just removes part of the neccssity of towns (Nessak) with identifiers. It's also very cheap to ID now, and rather cost effective if you ask me.

    A merchant would tell you what he's selling. You'd just be standing there with a tunic made from orc leather thinking "what the hell am I supposed to do with this".
