Elements sound cool. They look cool. But they are confusing. Nevermind that, I'm not going to talk hate. I'm suggesting to add a new element to balance the element system.

The elements are directly related to Skill Points:
    Air > Agility
    Fire > Defense
    Earth > Strength
    Thunder > Dexterity
    Water > Intelligence

I have found that they each have their opposites...
Chance to evade damage > Chance to inflict damage (A > T)
    Defense > Attack (F > E)

Except water. Water is all alone. What if a new element came into existence? One that was the opposite to water. I'm suggesting Metal, so that the opposites are...
Less mana used in spells > Less mana used in sprinting (W > M) (Idk let me know what it should be)

BEFORE you comment "This is going to be too complicated" maybe Metal should be a rare endgame element?

I don't see how less mana being used in sprinting is really that beneficial compared to the other stats. I mean, when horses get fixed, it probably won't matter at all, if it matters that much now. Compared to using less mana per spell cast (therefore being able to cast way more spells) it doesn't hold much merit.

Also, metal doesn't make much sense. Water can't effectively damage metal, and having more metal should logically weigh the player down, making them tire faster and use more mana.

Just some critism, but I do agree that water needs a counter.

Maybe the system is complicated because it's brand-spanking new? Give the system we have now time before you write it off as too complicated. Do your best to learn it the best you can, and then you may judge. But judging from this post, you have a fairly good understanding of them, so I don't see how they're confusing.

Also, making Metal a strictly endgame element wouldn't work either because that means if you want to use Metal, you would either have to
    a) Know beforehand that you want to use Metal and not use some Skill Points for when you do get it, thus making yourself overall weaker.
    b) Unnecessarily buy Skill Reset scrolls.
And yes, running using up Mana is annoying, but it's certainly not annoying enough to me to invest skill points to get rid of the problem. There are more beneficial and useful ways to spend skill points.

Actually, water tends to be the opposite to earth. Earth is more melee based while water is more melee based. There aren't just opposites. Earth is also a complete opposite to air because... well, look at the speed differences on higher level weapons. And there are different styles with each element. You can't put it down to two styles of playing. Plus, metal isn't really an opposite to water in the case of intel and whatever you wanted to call the thing for metal anyway.
