    Hello there!

With the new Gavel Update, I've been farming a ton, and have found a few minor things which bug me.
The 2 most bothering ones are to do with Potions.

First of all, Potions are a great idea and I love them, I don't want to remove them or change how they work.

    Fix one
Most of the times when you use a potion Is when you just got hit, and another hit would be fatal! At such a point, dodging any enemy attack is key to survival, and how the potion works kind of limits that.
When you want to dodge an enemy attack, whether the enemy is ranged or melee based, you have to walk as fast as you can to give yourself the best chance to not get hit again, however, when you drink a Potion, you get slowed by the 'drinking' which comes from the regular MC drinking a potion mechanics. It might seem small but it could end up being fatal.

How would one fix this? Well, That's easy.
We're using an RP already, and it's easily possible go change the texture of any item into the Potion's texture, and slightly change the code to work with that item instead.

It's an easy fix to something possibly fatal.

    Fix 2
The 2nd one is a little less important, but can be a hassle if it won't get fixed.
So, High level potions, 80+ Cost around 50 Emeralds. I reckon most people clean their inventory after an adventure, and then stock up on potions. These people only have of 1 stack or less emeralds, and the rest in EB or even LE. The potion Merchant isn't smart enough to change the EB into Emeralds, meaning you have to walk to the Emerald Converter, convert a few EB, walk back, buy the pots with the few inventory spaces you now have left, and hope you have enough/not too much so you don't have to keep on walking back and forth.

This is bad game design to be honest, and making Merchants (not only the Potion one, but also the Scroll merchants etc) use the Code that an Identifier uses to use Emeralds, EB and LE to get the money required for the deal shouldn't take long at all for the Devs. (The can pretty much use the code from the Identifier)

That's all for today. I hope you agree with these changes, and even if you haven't had this happen to you, think about what it would be like. It's an easy fix, after all.

Yes, it is near Instant, but you still get the Slowness since its actually a potion. If they change it to any other item, you wouldn't be slowed and it would indeed be instant without any draw-backs.

Alright, but there has to be a line where responsibility falls on the player themselves. You shouldn't be able to just heal for free. If you know another hit will kill you and healing would slow you down enough to get hit, it's up to you to get a safe distance away from whatever's attacking you so you can heal.

You could fix the potions by making them splash when some1 "uses" the potion he would get healed and the thrown potion entity would get killed

I'm just special in a way ;D (Way to be arrogant)
I'm fine with the potions being actual potions, but the second part is very much needed for all kinds of merchants, scrolls, weapon and armour, and the potion merchants.

This would be too overpowered since this is Instant.
    ________________________________
I disagree. It's not actually free in the first place.
You have to purchase it firstly, and it's not instant. These are the drawbacks, and the slowness shouldn't be another one.
It's easily visible that the slowness through consuming a potion is a bug, which should be removed. It was rightfully so meant to not give slowness.

The fact that you have to buy potions isn't a drawback since potions are cheap, money is unlimited, and there are many ways to make quick money. Also, play most RPGs and try to use a healing item. Your movement will be inhibited in some way. In many cases, you'll just stop right in your tracks in order to make the player vulnerable while they're healing. If you can use a healing item instantly and still be able to move about freely, that's pretty OP to me.

Bobs charge on an assassin that mains defence will be knocked near death.
"Well you shouldn't be in its way in the first place"
I can say the same for just about everything with "Well you shouldn't (have)", there are always problems and sometimes it's unavoidable, you can be far away because you're trying to heal already and he uses his spell without you knowing because you weren't able to see the spell particles.

I'm not saying every death is the player's fault (though most are). I'm saying the game developers shouldn't have to coddle you and make it as hard to die as possible.

Tbh, they should actually implement these. Most suggestions say "Oh, add in this feature. It'll take you hours upon hours of development but nobody will really care about it!" But this one everyone would be thankful, because I hate traveling to the potion merchant with 3 stacks of emeralds to find I can buy like 3 potions, and have to go and convert my blocks into emeralds. Also, it wouldn't take that long to implement, so it'd help out a lot.

I've noticed the first one many times when surrounded by a bunch of mobs. It can be really annoying sometimes. Both of these would be great fixes!
