Probably known by now, when you hover over an item in the merchants' shops it tells you the price. So if it is 2 emeralds, and you have 2 emeralds on you, it will remove those from your inventory and give you the item if you click it.

However, if something costs, say, 16 emeralds, and you have one emerald block in your inventory, the merchant tells you that you cannot afford it. I would only find it realistic if they had exchange and leftover emeralds, meaning that if you had one block of emerald on your inventory, and you bought something that cost 16 emeralds, it would take away one emerald block and gove 48 emeralds back to you. That is, if you do not have enough pure emeralds in your inventory. And if you had 15 emeralds and 1 block, it would first take those 15, and then the block, and after that give back 63 emeralds to you.

They same goes the other way around, meaning that if you had ome stack of emerald blocks in your inventory and something cost one emerald block, it would take that away instead.

This would work for liquid emeralds too.

With this system merchants could sell items for a price between 64 and 128 emeralds, instead of having those big gaps.

I understand why this would be needed, but that ruins half the point of different currency. Other than simply for storage, having to convert between EM, EB, and LE is important as to not making everything have the same currency. Otherwise its just like 1 currency and storage...

It is not different currency you know. It even has the same sign, the e with the line over it.

Imagine an emerald being a penny. Then the block would be maybe a 50 dollar bill, and the Liquid emerald would be a 500 dollar bill.

And also, identifiers already have that property I talked about
