Bring Back Swarms

even through I didn't play Wynn back when we had swarms but I know they look so fun (I know it makes A LOT of lag but hey, it's fun) so let's bring back the swarms once and for all! Who's with me?

 

i only saw one swarm in the old dayz of wynn
they might have been laggy but they made it feel more real , because just like it would happen in worlds like wynn the monsters wont just stay around in certain locations they will move and attack cities
so yea i approve

 

They caused a lot of lag, but many people enjoyed It and it was a good way to level up.

 

Swarms = Lots o' Mobs + Lots o' Players + Lot's o' Particles in a concentrated area + Lots of plugins going off at the same time = the following symptoms: Extreme lag; causing to them to freeze and die multiple times, losing soulpoints and/or all their items. [] Server crashing; losing the swarm and EXP.

While swarms were indeed fun and great for farming, it was just too much lag for the servers to handle. I don't think they can come back unless we can solve all the issues.

Seriously, this is basically the player housing idea. It's been suggested so many times, the Admins have obviously noticed it by now.

The difference between these two ideas? Bringing swarms back is a good idea. I'm pretty sure they've hinted at some of the old stuff getting a return (I think they said it in an old post from before 9/7), so I wouldn't be surprised if swarms were considered.

To be honest, I doubt we'll get in this update. Maybe not even next update. But I know it existed once, so I know the Admins must've liked it - and the only reason they removed it was because of lag. According to Grian's post, lag has been reduced a LOT, so maybe they'll add it back soon. I don't know.



TL;DR: Point I'm trying to make - it's a great idea, and maybe even feasible now that (apparently) lag has been reduced. But you probably shouldn't bother making the suggestion. :P
