    As many of you shoutbox dwellers may know the shoutbox is a place of words and kindness, but sometimes, just sometimes, the shoutbox becomes a place of heated arguments that get out of control.
    For cases like that I suggest a "curfew" button only accessible by moderators. When the moderators press the "curfew" button they will face an interface that will let them choose a set time for the curfew (up to 5 minutes) while a curfew is in place only moderators may post in the shoutbox thus allowing them to take control of what's happening.

    maybe a lock chat option, and they can post. curfew just sounds gay in my opinion.

    of course the moderators should ask the people to stop before starting a curfew but if there is a heated arguement most of the times mods will get ignored and the arguement will escelate untill a mod bans someone. this will be used as a "time out" and focus the whole sb on what the moderator is saying and to his/her warning.

    I think a better idea would be to have a mute button - that way, we can mute the people starting annoying arguments for an amount of minutes, and other people are still allowed to talk.

    A mute button would in fact be better, for someone trying to irritate; besides, two people arguing over something little like which ice cream is best isn't something to lock the chat for.
    If two people are actually arguing you can mute whoever is causing hatred, if both are, then both can be muted.
