    Concept:
    Alright since my last post failed about Submarines, I just wanted to talk about artifacts now. Artifacts are something that boost strength in combat and in defense. To activate a artifact's power, place it in your inventory at all times. The artifacts act like a boost to your skill points. Note that you can only have one of each artifact to keep it balanced.

    How to Craft:
    Artifacts can't be free right? You'll have to craft them by finding 'Shards'. Shards are items that mobs drop, but are extremely rare. In every major city, there will be a NPC called 'Shaman Crafter', who will create a random artifact for you, in exchange for emeralds and nine shards. Now, depending on the type of shard you give to the Shaman Crafter, you'll get that type of artifact. For example, if you have nine fire shards, then the Shaman Crafter will give you a fire artifact, a type of artifact that will boost your damage, like in Gavel. Note: Shards are a 5% chance drop by mobs. Shards are randomized.

    Types of Artifacts:

    9 Fire Shards = Fire Artifact (Damage Boost)
    9 Ice Shards = Ice Artifact (Defense Boost)
    9 Air Shards = Air Artifact (Speed Boost)
    9 Grass Shards = Grass Artifact (Health Boost)
    9 Water Shards = Water Artifact (Spell Cool-down)


    Enchantments:

    There will be a second NPC in every city called 'Enchanter' who will enchant your artifacts will secret powers, without these, your artifact will be useless. The Enchanter's powers come at a cost, emeralds.

    Enchantments:
    Fire Artifact:
    +5-10% Damage Boost
    +3-10% Spell Damage
    +1-5% Double Damage Chance

    Ice Artifact:
    +5-10% Defense Boost
    +1-5% Dodge Damage
    Air Artifact:
    +5-10% Speed Boost
    +5-10% Horse Speed
    +1-5% Chance to dodge all damage while running
    Grass Artifact:
    +5-10% Health Boost
    Water Artifact:
    +5-10% Spell Cool-Down
    +1-5% Base Mana
    +1-5% Less Mana Cost

    You can have a maximum of 70 skill points, so having a 5% boost doesn't really change much.

    I like the idea of equippable upgrade items, though I don't think that having them only boost skill points would be much fun.

    Some changes I suggest:

    -Nerf the chances of getting one since you need 9. What is the chance of getting one?
    -Maybe right click "equip" them? Make it able to equip all of them.

    Decent idea, I like it. I always pictured artifacts as items obtained rarely from fishing or extremely rare items from mobs, with a yellow text (which is unique, but in another game I've played it was yellow).

    I have a thread about Submarines, it didn't work. The Submarine would allow you to get pieces of artifacts faster.
