World Ships! [500+ Supporters! (and A Lot Of Cats)]

Umm, all in all, a very cool idea! :D

I first thought like "lol, then the sea won't see me again" :P

But with the already boring normal buggy boat mechanic you have to face every
now and then when your inventory is full in Dead Island
this is an immersive and exciting way of travelling :)

Also a nice balance with the pirate thing :D

However, I don't know how you meant that with the ship "builds",
e.g. when a lot of people travel around at the same time using the same
ships (same specs) there have to be a lot of ships for everyone or
players would stack on some ships.
And here the problem with the pirate mechanic starts
(e.g. Player 1 is lvl. 8 and Player 2 is lvl. 71 or so), what lvl are the pirates?

But maybe I'm wrong and not that many people are using ships at the same time :)

Anyways, definitely +1 Support for this nice idea :D

 

Well, you could create a huge number of ships, while the server is in maintance, (e.g 500 with bank, 500 without everything, 500 with bank+bars... etc.) enough for thousands of player.
Now, each time a Wynncrafter buys a ship he will get one of the pre generated ships already there. When he buys furniture, he will get another ship with his bought furniture assigned.

Also, for the pirate thing: Id like to use the arithmetical mean, so it is kind-of balanced. When a lvl 1 guy plays together with a Lvl 75 full endgame player, one will have to protect the other.

Example:
1 Player: Lvl 32
2 Player: Lvl 74
3 Player: Lvl 5

(32+74+5)/3 = 37
Pirates will have an average Lvl of 37 (Lvl 74 guy will have to protect his allies)

The boats are very buggy. I once wasted 3 eb and then got stranded on a 10x10 island because they kept despawning. :3

Ships would only be useful if you could not travel to the island by yourself, all of the classes except assassin have an easy time getting to the islands, so if this were in-game it would seem like a waste of money

AWESOME idea. I love how you know what you're doing (For example, particles and whooshing sounds while not actually DRIVING the boat). One thing I think should be changed though. Nobody is going to be spending that much le to travel to a few places. I think the one-time fee is a good idea, but the per-travel free should be 100% removed. To replace this, a possible upgrade system could be put in place? For example, you could upgrade the speed and size of your boat. You could possibly also have some different types of boat aesthetics if you are a donator. That's a nice little perk.

Anyway, sorry for all the text. Great idea, I 100% support it.

I love this idea (especially since I spend most of my time at sea! I'm a Mage who likes boats, deal wit it) because the fact that it's almost like a plot and that it's yours! It's a great and original idea 2 thumbs up!

When you said you can walk around on the ship I'm guessing that it will be made of blocks and sitting in the ocean when traveling but have the noises and stuff like you said. But if you upgrade will it become more elaborate and the ship gets bigger or will it be a big blank ship with bars and chairs and stuff added with cosmetic upgrades?

 

A bit of both, it will expand in size and style.

 

Love the idea! I hate going on the boats which take FOREVER, but with ships, but pay a small fee (1 LE, 32 EB tad much) and head there. :D
