World Quest Idea: Gavel's Crystal

Quest Name: Gavel's Crystal

Talk to Nonit at (X, Y, Z)

Starting the Quest:

Nonit [1/7]: "Uh... Hi adventurer. What brings you here?"

Nonit [2/7]: "Oh uh... You want to go into Gavel huh..."

Nonit [3/7]: "Well uh. I'm not sure if I can let you in"

Nonit [4/7]: "You uh see... Gavel is facing a problem... Recently a mysterious man appeared."

Nonir [5/7]: "Everyone thought he was harmless... Until we saw what he came here for. Gavel's Crystal"

Nonit [6/7]: "The crystal keeps gavel clean and in purity. Without it, this land will start to corrupt."

Nonit [7/7]: "After he took it, he left Gavel. I heard rumors that he went to Ternaves. If you could retrieve it for us, we will be grateful!"

[Quest Book Updated]
Go to Ternaves, and talk to Memay.

Memay [1/3]: "Hello traveler. What may I help you with?"
Memay [2/3]: "Oh. Well I have seen someone like that."
Memay [3/3]: "He looked mysterious, and he headed into the catacombs in the church."

[Quest Book Updated]
Find out how to open the catacombs door, and go inside.

When you go in the catacombs, this message will appear in chat: "As you head down the stairs, you hear strange voices."

??? [1/2]: "Now that we have the crystal, Gavel will soon fall."

??? [1/2]: "And then, we can finally take revenge on Salted."

Peppered [1/5]: "Well well well. Who do we have here. An eavesdropper eh?"

Peppered [2/5]: "Well it doesn't matter if I tell you my plans. Your going to die soon anyways."

Peppered [3/5]: "You may be wondering why we took Gavel's Crystal. Well the answer is simple. We took it because were going to use it to corrupt the province of Wynn. And you may be asking? How? Why? Well its simple."

Peppered [4/5]: "Were going to reverse the affects of the crystal with a bit of magic, and it will corrupt instead of purify. But anyways, enough talking."

Peppered [5/5]: "Guards! Come and take him/her away."

[Quest Book Updated]
Fight the guards and escape

After defeating the guards:

Peppered [1/1]: "You can't leave. And I will make sure of that."

You then get teleported to an arena, and see the boss Peppered. Peppered has 10,000 health, and regenerates 300 hearts every 10 seconds. After killing him:

Peppered [1/1]: "You... can't..... escape."

A glass window, renamed "Gavel's Crystal" drops from the sky. You then pick it up and head back to the surface. Go back to Gavel, and Nonit will say:

Nonit [1/3]: "Do you have the glass shard? Great!"
Nonit [2/3]: "Could you do me a favor and give it to the King?"
Nonit [3/3]: "Thank you!"

You will be teleported into the castle. Talk to the King and he will say:

Gavel King [1/2]: "Thank you! You area a true hero."
Gavel King [2/2]: "The citizens of Gavel and I would like to reward you with this."

Quest Complete!

Talking to Nonit before starting the quest:
"Uh... umm.. I'm not sure if I can let you pass.. Maybe when your level 49?"

Trying to enter catacombs before quest:
"A noise comes from the bottom and makes you shiver."

Talking to Memay before the quest:
"What the... Who was that?"

Talking to Nonit after the quest:
"Thank you so much!"

Talking to Memay after quest:
"Did you find him? Oh good."

Talking to the King after quest:
"Thank you very much! Now Gavel will stay purified."

 

It seems a bit too much like WynnExcavation D...

 

There is a lot of dialogue, but besides that its easy. Its basically travel to Gavel, talk to Nonit, travel to Ternaves, kill Peppered, then come back

 

There are some minor grammar mistakes and stuff. Something about it is how you HAVE to do this quest to enter Gavel, which doesn't seem right as of now, for this is just a submission. I also doubt having an NPC not notice you when you're in his face makes too much sense, unless you mention that he's old, etc. earlier on. Also keep in mind that this is likely not the storyline the developers have in mind (unless I'm missing something), so you might want to change it to more of an errand perspective rather than a major-storyline thing.

 

The GMs could have probably already thought of a way to get into Gavel.

 

Please do not make quest suggestions for something that isn't even released yet...

 

Could you do the Quest in a BlankQuest.YML (its in the GM Docs)... But its good...

 

So, you want the staff to add Peppered, new lore about some crystal, and a new Nether Portal, because without the crystal, Gavel will corrupt? Long story short, you want a copy WynnExcavation D, plus another giant portal, plus a random crystal, plus a new boss that is only, and will always be a character from Craftedmovie and not Wynn?

 

I'll try to be as polite about this as possible, but I won't make any promises...

1. Title is terrible, fix that.
2. Doesn't align with the lore. Wynn already is corrupted, but the corruption is going away, which is why the Villagers decided to finally open the Gavel door. (At least that's what the Trailer said)
3. Salted is not a canon character in the Wynncraft story. The closest is a non appearing character called Detlas.
4. Peppered, against common belief, is semi-canon. An easter egg miniboss will rarely spawn in the Dead Miner's Cave near Troms, a Mooshroom called "Peppered's Ghost". Behind his grave is a sign reading "RIP Misadventures at Sea"
5. The Salted/Peppered story is now, always has been, and always will be, a part of CraftedMovie, and never part of Wynncraft. You should never base a quest around that.
6. Why do the people want revenge on Salted? What did Salted do to them?
7. "Oh, we found the hero, so we might as well explain our plan to them now because reasons!" cliché

Fix these, and it might be a bit better, but the GMs have most likely created a way into Gavel already, so I doubt this quest would get accepted even with these fixes.

 

that's no dialogue at all. and getting in gavel should be like getting to bobs tomb.
