Player Quests

This idea's kind of out there, and I'm not sure how It'll be, but that's why I have the poll. Here's my idea, what if there was a new shop called the job board or some other fitting name? This "job board" will allow players to put up quests of their own. for example, say if someone was willing to pay for a scroll or an item for a quest or even a nice weapon, and someone else out there has it or can get it. all that someone would have to do was go to the job board, post a quest that says he's looking for x amount of said item, and set an emerald or item reward. someone walks along, sees the quest, and decides that the reward is worth the item/work. he then accepts the quest, gets the item, and hands it in. That's it, the questee got his item, and the quester got his reward. Both people are happy. Of course, it can work the other way around, too. Say someone has a sick item that they either can't sell or don't want to sell at an item buyer. they can just set the quest parameters to emeralds and the reward to the item. Also, to avoid quest trolling, if you can't complete the quest in 24 hours, it goes back to the job board.

BTW, I changed voting rules a little. now you can select multiple options. If you just think it's okay, but still want to support it, I recommend you re-vote and select both.

 

So it's basically a trade market board? How would the payment work? Would it take the items from the player's bank?

 

What if both players are in opposite time zones?

 

I think it's a good idea but a few things need to be changed.

 

Although something like this in game would encourage community trading, I think the forums pretty much has this covered with the "Planning parlor","Your services" and "Trade market" sections. If people want to find an item and aren't on the forums, try helping them out by recommending it.

This has been in my mind for a while, however I wouldn't agree with the "job board".

 

Think of the 24 hours as not being a day, but being a countdown timer.

I meant maybe you could go for something other than a "job board". Maybe a floating book or exclamation mark to show a person is in need of a quest?

 

you'd have to go up to the job board with the reward item in your inventory, and it will be taken from you when you post the quest

That might work, but it's more of the general concept of quests made by other players that benefit both. Really, it's up to the devs to do what they want with it.
