Swarms Please!

Do you think this should be added? this will make it easier for wynn team to know if people want it

    Hello, this is my first suggestion after the data loss, so i did'nt write something like this in a while so it might be a bit chaotic. sorry for any grammar mistakes, i'm not a native English talker/writer.

    First of all ill explain what the suggestion is about in general, after that ill explain it in detail. So me (ING:Ronbn) and my friend Idan (ING:Girasim) thought of how to implement the old swarm system while enhancing the existing guild wars system and canceling major flaws like lag from a massive amount of mobs, balancing, being killed because of low level and many other problems which made the swarms be deleted.

    the names of things are not final, I didn't have many good ideas for names so i made up random ones (please suggest names you feel fit!)


    General idea:

    So to deal with problem like being killed from low level or lagging (which were major issues back in the day) we thought to put the swarms in the “attack server” of a city and let every one in the area type the command /swarm join and be added to the city which they are in, The swarm could affect the guild claims to but ill explain that later. Mobs which were bout by the guild that controls the area will join the battle and help the players defend the city.


    The swarm levels

    The swarm will work a little different as well, the amount of mobs and their strength will be determined by 4 main attributes, the first will be the average player level in the attack server. the second will be the amount of players in the server. the third will be the average level of guild mobs in the area, and the forth will be the amount of guild mobs in the area. the mobs level will not go higher than the max level of the zone +10, to give a balance to lower level player, but still give a challenge for most players.


    Guilds affecting swarms

    There will be a couple ways a guild can affect the swarms. The main way will be guild towers, every city can have 8 guild towers that do different things.


    A bell tower will give a 12.5% chance that a swarm will have a warning 20 minutes (normal warning will be 5 minutes before the swarm) before it comes and it will cost 10 EB. these towers are stackble


    An archery tower will cost 15 EB, will damage mobs in the swarm will be attacked by mobs, will do a fine amount of damage that will change according to the city. you cannot have more then 4 archery towers.


    An enchanting tower will cost 20 EB, its function will be baffing all the players in the attacking server, when you buy the tower it will give you 3 options to choose from. the first will be the tower of haste which gives all players speed II. the strength tower will give 15% damage boost. and the defense tower will give 15% defense. enchanting towers work only on player and you can have only 2 of each (cant have 3 strength towers, but can have 2 haste and 1 strength).


    Swarm mobs, bosses and loot!

    Swarm mobs will be determined by the swarm type, the swarm type will be randomly selected. other swarms will have a higher chance than other in different areas (ice swarm will be more common in nessak than fire swarms)


    The ice swarm will have a lot of ice themed mobs such as, slow frozen iron golems, frozen zombies, ice elementals and so on. the mobs in the ice swarm will have mostly debaff abilities and will hit slow and hard.


    The fire swarm has a bunch of firey mobs like magma cubes, blazes, fire imps ect.. mobs in the fire swarm will baff each other, hit fast and come in packs. they will hit fast and deadly.


    The earth swarm comes in a different way than the other swarms, from the ground! unlike the other swarms the mobs in the earth swarm will come attack from below, crawling zombies, giant corrupted worms and much more!. the mobs of the earth are very strong and even alone can deal fatal damage to any brave warrior who sets his eye on they’re land!

    if you have ideas for more swarm types please suggest them!

    When 70% of the swarm mobs have died or too much time has passed, the swarm boss will come. the swarm boss will be extremely hard to kill and will use ALOT of special abilities themes like the swarm type. the boss strength will be determined like the other bosses.


    After the swarm ends, if it was defeated players will get random loot according to they’re level, the loot rarity will be determined by the amount of damage the player did. After a swarm end there's a slight chance a special swarm item will appear, it will spawn in the top 15% of player’s inventory that did the most amount of damage.


    After the swarm

    If the swarm was indeed defeated, then the area stays the guild property and every one is happy!. if 80% of the mobs are alive after 40 minutes of the swarm, a huge waves of level 666 op mobs called demons of corruption with black robes and very powerful abilities like EXPLOSIONS OF DEATH! will come and attack the city, killing every villagers and player on the battle server.


    being killed in a swarm usually wouldn't do anything, you will respawn in the battle server and you wont lose any soul points, but if the super op mobs will kill you, you will respawn in the ragni bunker (ill explain about the bunker later). after all the players are dead, and the city has reloaded, the place will look a bit like selchar in the Christmas quest. every thing in the city wont work and all the villagers wont be there. the guild which controls the area doesn't control it any more. the city will up date on the whole server network. even the music in the city will change to make you feel like the place is destroyed.


    The city will be filled with mobs, respawn there wont work any more and scrolls to the city wont work as well. the only way to take back the city it to go to it and do /attack city (or /attack guild to attack as a guild and take the zone) and wait 5 minutes. A shout to the whole server network will telll people to come to the city and help attack it. the mobs will be leveled in the same system as before, but the amount will be only 50% of the amount there should be and no boss will come. after a city was taken it will come back to what it was before the swarm and all the villagers will come back.


    ragni and the bunker?

    in ragni swarms will be more rare and the mobs and bosses will be weaker, this is so new players wont have a bad time being killed over 8000 times in a swarm. in ragni there will be a giant bunker where all the villagers, all merchants, and all quest NPCs from destroyed cites will stay until the cites are back. there will be bank, item identifier and a LE merchant inside. the bunker will be the only thing that cant be destroyed by the swarms. this is so swarms wont make quest impossible and wont harm the gameplay to much.

    its too complex, not a top priority, and in my opinion, completely screws crap

    2: I still cant really see how this will cause it to lag less.
    and
    3: They are still trying to finish Gavel so I don't know if they are going to work on adding this at all or at least in the next 3 months decades*

    Well lag is still a problem even on a seperate server cuz the amount for a level 75... Also when gavel comes out there gonna have a spike in lag due to double the area. So a swarm is probably not on their minds right now. Also they would have to code a lot (though your idea is quite good I suggest re submitting AFTER gavel)

    sounds amazing! however if this will come true just make sure you do not spawn in the bunker so you can keep on fighting!
    also just remove the level 666 mobs... they would be stronger then death who is the strongest boss and make the swarm boss be like level 64 or so in troms and stuff like that so it can be FAIR

    They removed swarms for a very obvious reason, the lag. Also i don't see the 8 towers thing fitting into wynn

    I'm not to sure but maybe a median player level would work better because I can see level 75s bringing it up a lot. Opinion though
