Dear Wynncraft Community and Development Team,

I hope everyone is doing great during this very weird time in all of our lives. This is a just quick suggestion for wynncraft's dungeons and a idea I had while playing through a lot of the dungeons.

While I love the redesigns of most of the dungeons in wynncraft, from Decrepit Sewers to Underground crypt ( current lost sanctuary is not my favorite cup of tea though ) I due miss how the dungeons where back in 2013, the old skeleton, animal, zombie dungeons, and would love to see older dungeons that I never played like any of the mini dungeons. And while many of the dungeons have in a way been converted to the modern day dungeons, that is not the case for the elemental mini dungeons, who's full dungeon was official cancels a while ago. While I due know that the current day dungeons are either near copies of the past dungeons ( namely skeleton and decrepit sewers seen to be a match for match ) It would be nice to be able to play through the old dungeons while also having newer player be able to experience them, as well as face harder versions of the modern day dungeons in some cases ( seriously, look at the old animal dungeon tree parkour to now, it's butchered )

Now, how would you fit these dungeons into the new lore of wynncraft, due to the older dungeons not really being connected to any story threads in the past? In my mind this can be done through handful of ways, one way being through implementation through the valley of time, where a npc or entrance can be entered ( or unlocked through a quest, either way ) that leads to a haul similar to that of the magical underground transport system or the areas players are sent to after a new major update, where you can buy a key from a vendor there ( cost could be a drop from the boss + emeralds, dungeon key + emeralds, special items + any of the previous, etc ) that can be drops in a central hopper in a similar sense to the seaskipper in nemcract and teleported to the legacy dungeon

Now, how would the legacy dungeons work? they would more than likely not be able to exactly copy the old dungeons(like how every mob was in essence a zombie or skeleton in a assortment of armour), due to wynncraft's plugins and systems being very much changed from the days of old. though they can be recreated through the new systems to be close of not at where the old dungeons work. Also, due to many of the old dungeon mechanics being simple in comparison to modern day dungeons, most of the sections themselves would either remain the same or would simply need a light touch up with the new plugins in theory.

What would these dungeons reward? While I have played a lot of the older dungeons back in the day, I can't say how they compare to the difficulty to the modern day equivalents, so I would only have to say either would offer similar rewards to the modern day dungeons or slightly higher/lower grade gear. Or maybe you work towards exclusive gear related the legacy dungeons that have sets equivalent to the bosses, this would really have to depend on many factors only the developers fully now.

To conclude, while the modern day dungeons are beautiful, fun, expansive and numerous; I feel like an opportunity to play the older verions of the dungeons would help to further add to this systems by bringing in variants of the dungeons in a similar fashion to the corrupted dungeons, and while I would agree on the surface it would look like a waste of time, I feel It would add variation to those to grind these dungeons for loot,xp,and objectives by given them a blast to the pat and or a large nostalgia trip use to play and feel.

While this is merely an idea, and not the most fleshed out one at that, I would love to see others improve and build upon this idea to see if the community is as interested as I am in this and how these dungeons could, in more likely terms, be put into the game again. I thank you all for the time for reading and hope you all stay safe and have a great day.

    Sincerely,
    Buttercreeper6

while I don't mind this existing, I wouldn't want to see them implemented in to the base game. old dungeons were quite below wynncrafts current standards, and locking legitimate content behind something just not many might enjoy, and giving new players bad impressions, is just something I wouldn't want to see. talks about a wynncraft classic have been around recently, and while said to be too large scale, maybe this could borrow from that by being its own separate entity; although I believe wynncraft doesn't like having separate gamemodes.

That is definitely a fair point, though I do feel like some of the older dungeons are not that bad as compared to the newer ones. I would simply like the option to play the older dungeons; even if they do not give anything special. My idea for this post was honestly to get the ball rolling on how this idea could work in game, and these suggestions are just be throwing things out there.

Old CSST isn’t old enough for these threads yet? Or do people still fear the easy grind enough to not mention its existence.

    Not Joking Part:

Personally, I wasn’t there for when other old dungeons were a thing, but I can see why you would want this. The main issue with these old dungeons is mostly the fact that they may not have the ability to use them seeing as how they were made before a lot of the current features we have now. Take the enemies and bosses as an example here: old enemies did not have custom models or even human models to use so much of these older enemies were simply cows or zombies. To a new player these types of lower quality would not be as impressive leading to only a small number of people actually using these old dungeons. That is the main reason they are unlikely to do this, as new players simply won’t see the dungeons like veterans do.

However there is a way around this and all the lore issues which could arise that I haven’t seen anyone say yet. If these old dungeons were to be shortened, they could be used as caves with Loot Chests interspersed throughout their length. Since I have far less knowledge of older dungeons, I will use CSST as I very much remember that. Take a place in the far north east of the desert, behind the Invaded Barracks, and put a cave there. In the cave, the old dart room and the unused second token room could be reused, and behind there there could be a tier 4 Loot chest, and possibly a few tier 2s along the way.

That is it. Take a few rooms that were memorable, and make them a cave. Old players get the memories, and new players get some free loot for finding the place. Everyone is happy, and much of the actual work is no longer needed. Something similar to this is currently in the game, in the form of Jumble’s Lair I’m Far Detlas Suburbs, and the Lonely Spider’s cave. Both are old areas that have been left in the game and given some shiny object for new players to stumble upon.

I think the new dungeons are largely superior to the original dungeons, but by golly I can never think of a dungeon I enjoyed more than the old zombie dungeon. I just remember it being so cool, with what was at the time a pretty difficult and fun boss (really bland by today's standards, but rose tinted glasses, y'know) and just a phenomenal atmosphere. I would absolutely love to be able to go through it again, if only to see how much they've improved.

The dungeons could also double as (secret) discoveries, especially if they're implemented as caves.
