A bunch of people on the forums report losing their whole inventory because its not safe to afk in a town, and there are even more people who don’t have forums who have lost everything.

So, whenever you die, you gain invulnerability and become unable to gain aggro (like when someone opens a chest) until an action is done. This may not prevent the first death of a mob sneaking into the city, but does prevent all future deaths.

or just add a /class afk timeout (it will auto /class after x minutes)

I'm also a fan of adding moving pistons to the borders of town so mobs can't go inside them.

Heres the possible problem with that plan: If mobs get in within those minutes (though unlikely), those mobs can still repeatedly kill the player.

Example: Lexdale has lots of enemies that can kill afk players repeatedly even within a few minutes of /class

What I'm saying is a combo of the 2: If mobs can't get into the city, they can't kill you

That is true, however I am advocating for a simpler solution that prevents afk repeated killings altogether. Adding moving pistons adds complexity and I feel would require more work.

Tbh, adding an afk timer alone would solve most cases of afk repeat killings and would be the easist to implement, but I want a simple and 100% no repeated death chance method.

I think it's so much simpler to inform people that if they're going to AFK, they should type /hub or log off the client. Nothing ever said that cities were safe, and within the first 15 minutes of joining Wynncraft, you meet Bob the Zombie, a mob that can kill you if you allow it, that spawns in the city.

Except there's places like ragni and lexdale and gelibord that have hostile mobs spawn inside

why not make one of those tips that appear on chat saying "if you plan to be afk, remember to /class so you are safe!"?
i cant see any downsides to /class except if you are at a dungeon boss room (they tp you outside if you /class there right?)

Theres a chance people can miss the tip through normal gameplay due to focusing on gameplay rather than chat. A personal example is I had no idea of the monthly crate until recently, despite the tips.

Also, designing a solution to a problem with heavy loss that has the factor of human error to screw up the solution isn’t the best.

I don't see any reason for them not to add this, and I can't imagine it would be too hard for them to add. It's not even abuseable like adding invulnerability within a town or something like that would be.

Sure, a solution other than /class wouldnt be bad at all, but by the logic you said, Seaskipper hoppers should have had a "solution" a long time ago since losing a mythic is a lot worse than losing you gear at lvl 60-70, so its not like Wynncraft is super worried about people making big mistakes and costing them items since the only solution they provide is to pay more attention lul.

People shouldnt AFK at all. It makes the servers full (which is annoying if for expample a bomb is thrown and other people want to join) and its unnecessary.

I personally like the fact that people die when they AFK (Ask For Kill), maybe they learn from their mistakes. I play Wynncraft since like 2017 and I never ever died because I AFKed.

you could still die enough to lose all (or even just some) of your stuff in, say, 5 minutes if you're unlucky in olux, lexdale, or some other town with hostile mobs

and if someone wanted to get soul points they would have to come back to not be /classed constantly so it doesn't take 3 times as long

The only reason I ever AFK is to regain soul points when I have 4 left and I'm too scared to go anywhere, as you gain 3x less soul points when offline

I don't know if this has ever been brought up before (or if it's possible, which I think it is but not 100%) what if all hostile mobs just died as soon as they got into a certain range of the city centre. So they can go a bit in but then when they pass a certain place they just die and don't drop loot so it's not abusable, then everyone can afk in the middle of town no problem
