World Food!

We have food in the game already; Steak, potatoes, apples... BUT THEY DO NOTHING! I am here to solve this issue!

Food can be bought in various towns (Not every town!) OR can be rarely picked up from mobs. (Rarity would be between a Rare item and a Legendary Item to prevent inventory cloginess)
Food would give you various custom buffs! No longer will you need expensive Skill point potions! (They can still exist though)
Also, different foods can have multiple "bites" (Like potion sips, where you get multiple per item)
You cannot have more than 1 food effect at a time. Eating another food item will cancel out the previous effects.

No, they will be able to give all types of effects, not just HP. Some food could give health, sure, but there would be others that give you even like Reflection or Life steal!

I have to admit I can't resist when I see a succulent mirror just lying there, waiting for me to gobble it up.

 

The problem with this is that it makes sense for Food to heal you or give you health regen, but not do things like give you thorns or reflection.

If this were to be added, the roles of Potions and Food would be reversed; Food gives you health-based buffs while potions give you magical and other buffs.

I don't need to be optimistic for a bad suggestion.

My opinion doesn't, you're right. I try to give reasons as to why. If all the issues are addressed or there are no issues, then there's no problem with the suggestion and it's good.

A suggestion being basically something that already exists but under a new name for no reason is not a good suggestion.

 

Let's be civil. Don't fight. I'm fine with ganon not liking my suggestion, it's his opinion and its just as valid as anyone elses

I don't dislike your suggestion; with a few small adjustments I think it could be rather good. I just think it has some issues; such as it just being potions with a different name, and their roles being semi-illogical.

 

I'll try to think of a better name. I don't think it will be potions though.
