Pretty simple idea, something similar to the misc bank/tome bookshelf but for emeralds. It would store 10 pages per rank "level", and the trade market would be able to deposit/withdraw emeralds from it just like with emeralds in the bank.

IF this gets implemented, which there are a number of arguments for and against, and I am not sure which i agree with, but IF it gets implemented...please use Scavenger Outer Void chest model it looks cool

I guess the main thing is, what does this accomplish that several emerald pouches and the account bank can't?

If anything, we just need an Emerald Pouch [Tier XI] that can hold a full row of stx. A row of those in your inventory is 81 stx.

Even if tier xi pouches existed your money withdrawn from trade market doesn’t go into the pouches directly

I assume that if it doesn't go into pouches directly, it must at least be automatically compressed as much as possible. Like say if your total income on withdrawal was 36799 emeralds, it would be compressed into 8LE, 62EB and 63E.

Sucks that you need 3 inventory slots to collect it all, but it's nothing that can't be anticipated.

Now that I've sold something and extracted my pay, I can see this is more a thing of 'there actually ISN'T an easy way to collect your pay in bulk, you have to click each individual thing and get your money, and while you get the compressed amount for every trade it doesn't go into your pouch'. This doesn't really necessitate an emerald bank so much as a way to collect your income from all of your sales, and in such a way that it goes directly to your pouch.

I'll do you one better: we should just remove the item forms of emeralds (and by extension emerald pouches) and make them a proper currency like how gil works in FFXIV. Then because it's a proper statistic rather than item you won't have to worry about inventory space.

Maybe also have a setting that shows it either as just emeralds, simplified emeralds (thousands as "k", etc.), or legacy (rounding them into emeralds, blocks, LE, and stx).

Well, it's not been once or twice that I've lost items and emeralds to lag (if you pick stuff up in your inventory to move to another slot and lag out, it's gone forever) and this would prevent that. On the other hand, aren't there mechanics that involve losing emeralds on death? Maybe I misunderstood some the alt game mode definitions, but I guess it also could just be tied to your money stat instead.

I know that making inventory management as painful as possible is part of how the server makes money (ranks = more storage) but this isn't really a problem for most players (the proletariat). I never have my emerald pouch fill up before I can stop at a city and empty my inventory emerald pouch into my bank emerald pouch/es. It would eliminate losing money due to lag, and it would make the rich happy which is a drawback but not a huge one.

I feel like this vastly overestimates the difficulty of obtaining emeralds.

Plenty of people had that little, many years before Rekindled started printing stacks of free LE on a weekly basis.

Rekindled has completely detonated the economy, yes.

After a while of casual play I've developed around 2 rows of STX, plus a large number of items-to-sell, which are annoying because I only have 5 slots and only play around festival season generally.

i wonder if a script that logs on and puts certain items on tm whenever you have slots open would be bannable

Yeah. What about a script that just pings you when you have open slots and tells you to log on? I’m not sure if slots are on API but they should be for booth purposes
