World Bring Back Swarms

Were you the guy who started the mushroom cow swarm?

 

um. which? Theres probably over 30 people who swarmed detlas with cows before.... so tell me what time i swarmed it...

Swarms used to be around a year or so ago they were very popular and gave big xp and items.

What happens is mobs attack a city in the game and players have to go defend the city it is always easy to do though and you can't really lose it. With an update in the past though I forget which the swarms were taken out because they were buggy. Hopefully they can make a return in the future, because they were awesome to participate in.

 

I think if swarms do get added back in they should be held in a separate world (or something like that) and they should happen on all servers.

 

That'd be crazy, and laggy.

Not sure if we could actually support it if almost everyone in the game was on one server.

 

Swarms got removed for an important reason.

First issue was the lag. All the players and mobs in one small chunk caused many players to time out.

The second issue were AFK people. They would afk and die without them knowing it. Whenever they respawn, they die again.

Along with any player dying in general, most of the mobs were around 50-70, giving a huge disadvantage to lower level players.


Swarms are fun, but unless we can find a way to solve those 3 problems, I doubt they will be brought back anytime soon.

 

No support. I hate threads that say things should be added where the community should provide a reason. Seriously. If you're going to suggest something, Give reasons. Give a supple amount of thought into your suggestion. If you don't care enough to write it all out. Then you don't care enough about the update.

1. The best person to ask about this would be Redx475 or some of the devs

2. When a swarm starts, it could move all players who have been idol for x amount of time in the area to the lobby or a new game server.

3. Swarms could scale with the level of the town they happen at.

Yeah and than they add guild wars and try to convince me the servers can't handle a swarm

2. Not needed, players would need to learn to stop afking
3. This would be a neat feature to swarms

Quick point as stated above, you guys can handle guild wars.

 

I actually always afk on a high rooftop or in an enclosed building out of habit, it started with me being paranoid about being afk killed by a swarm or Bob the zombie.
