I thought air was the opposite of defensive. Plus, I found a "mythic" air spear that I built a build for, but with everyone making derogatory comments about "add air spear" I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use it, even with its high health regen...
Air is supposed to be the opposite of defensive, but the air spears are defensive anyways...
People just don't like Hero because it has a measly 10 strength min.
The build uses Hive pants, Aerie chestplate, and a few other items that makes the build more well-rounded than most. It does use a bit of earth/strength, but only for melee damage purposes.
We really need a GOOD Non-MYTHIC air spear. The ratity of mythics makes them not countable for if an item exists
R.X. What if there was no air bow except stratiformis
Hero is geared more towards air/earth, as opposed to just air, but it's a really underrated item. It's really fun to use, even if it's beaten in the current meta
Honestly there's Harwrol but again that's air/earth and as far as I know barely anyone uses it. Warrior has Ignition for fire, Tidebinder for water, Rikter/Bedruthan for earth, Scythe for thunder, but really no pure air spear (not counting "mythics").
Considering legendaries are used most often in end-game builds, it would be nice if someone added a pure air spear meant for end-game that was legendary and not ultra rare like "mythics" are.
Basically air warrior builds are discouraged unless the "mythic" finds you and binds itself to you. And that probably won't happen to even 1% of the player base.
Even if it's an altar reward, a decent-enough air spear needs to be created for end-game use after hearing this.
Considering it's only a 10 point difference affecting the usage, there might eventually be a skill point item that increases the skill points high enough to breach this amount.
Someone will try to find a solution once new items come out. If they can make builds that abuse items meant to hinder you in some way, they can do the same with this situation.
At best you are only taking a 24 sp loss, but the issue is how sp intensive builds are that 24 is a massive loss. Just cumulonimbus and hero alone, with ideal ids is 90+74 or 164 sp. that's already a huge commitment
Well, if you were to use Dune Storm, Aerie plate, Hive leggings, and Paradox, you would need a layout of 70/20/33/33/80, or 236 total sp. That's 36 above the allotted 200, but Gigabyte erases 20 sp, Aerie plate can give up to 20 str, and Paradox can give up to 11 in both str and def.
You could reduce this further if you used other accessories like Hive accessories, Summa, etc. So, through accessories and armor bonuses, large reductions in sp are possible.
Fair enough. The powder slots, melee ids and reqs though makes it more of a hybrid earth air though. You could build other ways, but doing so is just kinda awkward due to the kinda random 10 str
The thing is, the Strength issue doesn't mean you need to deal earth damage. Dune Storm is a decent helmet on its own with decent ws, and a good Aerie plate is also really useful since it's lv100 and the fight is near Orange Wybel level (400,000 tank archer with annoying sanic minion...).
To be honest though, if your putting so much into strength, you should run at least one Earth powder. Hero is built towards melee, as opposed to spell, pushing players to air earth. It's damage may be air, but it really wants to be both
