    1.12.2 + optifine is currently the best option, as I can actually get past the mobs in the cave without crashing. Now all that's left is figuring...

    Oh yeah optifine + 1.12.2 worked fine until I got to the CoW, whos summoning abilities are more than adequate to make my computer commit seppuku....
