World Wynn Postal Service [313 Supporters]

This feature allows players to send and receive messages and items even while offline, and even has a quest to unlock it.
If you try to enter any office without first completing said quest, you'll be held back, with this message:
[1/1]Postman:We're closed, kid.
There'd be a PostmanNPC in the "WPS" Offices, and if you interact with him…

[Postman] You want to send somethin', or you just pokin' about?
[Type yes or no]

If you say no, he'll tell you this:

[WPS Postman]Awrighty. Have a nice day!

If you say yes, he'll ask you whether you want to send letters or items.

[WPS Postman]Letters or items, what'll it be?
[Type letters or items]

If you type letters, he'll have this to say:

[WPS Postman]Who you want to send to, pal?
[Type the username of who you want to send to]

He'll then ask you the topic of the letter.

[WPS Postman]What's this letter all about?
[Type the topic of the letter]

After that, he'll ask what you want to say.

[WPS Postman]Now, what do you want to send?
[Type in the chat the desired message]

Now, here's a new feature:

[WPS Postman]Y'want a stamp with this?

Stamps will just be a way of further classification of messages, and you can choose from [News], [Guilds], [Trade], [Request], or [None].
After these three things are done, he'll ask you whether or not you really want to send it, and he'll give you a preview.

[WPS Postman]You sure you want to send all this for x emeralds?

If you type yes and have enough ♦, he'll say:

[WPS Postman]It's been sent. Have a nice day!

If you type yes and don't have enough ♦, he'll say:

[WPS Postman]No can do, pal. You're a little short on emeralds.
(difference: x emeralds)

If you type no he'll say:

[WPS Postman]Awrighty. Have a nice day!

If instead you want to send items via mail, he'll have this to say:

[WPS Postman]OK. Let's see what you want sent.
[Hold what you want to send and type next]

The price of the item will generally be 4/3 of what item buyers would take for it, and it'll go up if there's enchantments and/or identifications applied to it.
Upon typing next, he'll say:

[WPS Postman]You sure you want to send[Item Name] forx emeralds?
[Type yes or no]

If you type yes and have enough ♦, he'll tell you:

[WPS Postman]It's been sent. Have a nice day!

The item will then be taken from your inventory.
If you type yes and don't have enough ♦, he'll tell you:

[WPS Postman]No can do, pal. You're a little short on emeralds.
[difference: x emeralds]

If you say no, he'll tell you:

[WPS Postman]Awrighty. Have a nice day!

Both items and messages will take a few hours or so to get to the recipient.
If you've received messages, it'll tell you this:

[WPS]You havexmessages!Type/wps messages listto display them!

Upon performing that command, the messages will be splayed out in the chat in this sort of fashion…

It'd just display who sent it and when, what it's about, and the body text.
I'm imagining that this Jumla message would greet every newcoming player on Wynncraft, or however he'd word it. To do this, staff (and ONLY staff) would have the ability to simultaneously send to everyone online and offline. They could use this to tell everyone about updates and whatnot.
You can type /wps messages clear [number] to delete messages one by one, or /wps messages clearall to delete them all.
That first command would leave something like this…

And if you try to delete something before you've read it, it'll say:

Also, as suggested by @The_Dúnadan , there'd also be /wpsmessages filter [news/guilds/trade/request/none], which would display all messages of a specific stamp.

If you've received items, it'll tell you this:

[WPS] You have x packages! Type /wps packages list to display them!

Display system more or less identical to the aforementioned.

Of course, you can always perform /wps unblock [username] to undo this.

Been on everyone's mind for a while, and a good suggestion that should garner support. Good job on expressing the idea for everyone; kudos and cool idea.

The main thing I wanted from this was mail within a guild, so you could add options for mail-to-all-guild-members, or if it would be safer and make more sense, only to Captains and higher. This would be much easier for guilds to get important news around, especially for big guilds that can't easily get a hold of everyone.

Also, you should consider the item-sending. Thought it would be a very neat way to send a gift, many people will use it as a trading service. Since it is not a co-ordinated swap, it very easy for players to scam others.

What someone could suggest in another thread (or expand on this one) is a trade mechanism, in which you can check incoming trade requests similarly to this postal system. The only difference is that you will be required to pay a fee (whether it be items or emeralds), depending on what the request sender wants to bargain for, to actually receive the item.
As for the receiving of the item(s)/emeralds, they should be stored in a "Trade Bank" that consists of around only 5 spaces (or the full 9 if no-one can make that work). This is to prevent accidental loss of the item, if the item(s)/emeralds were to be directly sent to (a) full inventory(ies) or bank.

In the end, the postal service idea is sugoi, but the item sending can stir up fishy business.

Type /wps sent open [Number] to open the letter, or do /wps cancel [Number] to cancel the letter.


And for the Postal Guy, how about the longer the letter is, the more it costs?

Alright well here's what I was thinking since I am about to leave school I did not get to read all of it just skimmed over it. Perhaps it was in there but I do not think I saw it. Make it so it's between friends and guild members. Considering the fact that people would spam others, this would stop a lot of that from happening.

 

But if (for example) I open a message which contains a weapon or an item, and my inventory is full. What's going to happen?
