Right now, the scaling for mob-kill XP goes like this:
    • Level 1-10: Massive XP from mobs. No need to engage with quests because mobs can provide all XP.
    • Level 10-30: Some XP from mobs. Not your main source, but a useful supplement.
    • Level 30-70: Mob XP irrelevant, unless you're grinding it for hours.
    • Level 70-105: Mob XP extremely irrelevant, unless you're grinding it for hours.
I feel like the balance here is not good.

I'm unsure what you're suggesting a 'good balance' would be. For mob XP to be relevant at all stages of the game?

I don't know what a good balance would be here. Either mob XP is always bad or mob XP is always, like, 0.05% of a level or whatever. I would have made this a General Suggestion but I didn't actually have any thoughts on how to fix it or what the problem was, just that mob XP was inconsistent, and in the endgame basically didn't exist at all.

I question the validity of "kill mobs for an hour!!!"-type MMO grinding, so, to be honest, maybe just remove mob XP entirely and provide a specific source of XP for those who want to grind specifically XP, starting around level 70. (Raids already provide a lot of XP, though, so maybe not even that is needed.)

??? i feel like this is just normal for the difficulty curve of the game? early is an easy cakewalk, mid is slowly ramping up, mostly because you know whats going on, and at the endgame maybe it makes more sense to vary your xp options.

what would the alternative even be?

ever since content book, this has never been the case, secret discoveries, world events, and, most importantly, quests are massive contributors to xp.

???? hard disagree, this take sucks. if that were the case why have mobs in the first place? why bother killing mobs? whats the point in a game if all you're doing is trying to min-max it into a science, thats just cookie clicker

    The XP already doesn't matter.

Ok? Territorial discoveries also don’t matter for xp. It’s called combat xp for a reason, its meant to be tied to combat.

You get XP from things that are not mobs. Mob XP proportion of your level is miniscule in the lategame.

Yeah, Im not sure what the big deal is here, dungeons give very little combat xp relatively to many other things in the late game, should we remove them too?

I am perplexed by your statement. You are not the one who initially created this thread, to my knowledge, which means that either you are in fact the same person as CulpitIsntAWord (which would be frankly shocking, as you two have entirely different personalities), or you are ascribing posting intent that you have no evidence for. I feel as though this was meant to be a serious post, and just is a bad idea. Culpit posts so many ideas, SOME have to be bad, although most are good.
