The tree room in The Nameless Anomaly is, in my opinion, very poorly designed. The reason is simple.

    Noobs cannot learn Tree.
    1. The Tree is a deliberately confusing maze. If you don't know the layout, it'll take you a long time to move through. Raids are time-limited and group-based, so if you take a long time in them, it'll frustrate everyone else at best, and lose the raid at worst (everyone outside dies, or the raid clock runs out). This means that the cost of a noob learning the Tree through trying it themselves is too high.
    2. The Tree is hectic and filled with enemies, making it difficult to pay attention to what grotto you're in, given the mad dash for void holes to try to get to the exit/whatever grotto the Isoptera is in.
    3. Ghosts can't enter the Tree to look around, so there's no way for a noob to tag along with an experienced Tree-runner and learn the ropes while not distracted by the mad dashing.
Now, it's possible that I've missed some obvious map of the Tree that's nailed to a Soul Shrub in the outside of the room. If I have, this feedback is moot. But if there is no obvious map of the Tree, then my suggestions for fixing the Tree problem are:
    • Letting ghosts enter the Tree.

The color of the shelf fungus around the portal corresponds to the room you'll be sent to.

That doesn't really work, because, to reiterate:
    • The Tree is hectic. It's cramped, filled with mobs, and you're constantly racing for void holes, unless the team outside the Tree is really slow at killing Soul Shrubs, which generally isn't the case.
    • Even if there are clues as to what grotto you're in and which one you'll be sent to with X void hole, in my experience, you can't really pay attention to that, due to Tree being hectic. Which room did I come in through? Which room am I in right now? Which rooms are connected to the room I'm in right now? You're pushed to move through Tree really fast because three people are waiting outside, the mobs are swarming, and souls don't last long, so you don't have much time to think.

every room is color coded also, I should mention>

I do agree that it's hard to do on the fly, but I think if it was just clearly outlined in the instructions, then it wouldn't be too bad. Part of the challenge is meant to be working under pressure

I think the pressure could probably be tuned down, given that, again, if you screw up as person-in-Tree everyone loses.

Also I think Soul Shrubs are too easy to kill? From what I remember the good teams I've Pfound were basically constantly firing souls...
