The old change suggestions, I’ve mentioned them ages before:


1. Make Teleport disable fall damage like every other spell.

This one is just annoying. Especially as an Arcanist when healing back the minor chip damage you get from fall damage is a bit more of a hassle than the rest of mage (and even then it makes you kinda a little miffed seeing yourself take unnecessary damage from teleporting 0.2 planck meters off the ground)

2. Make Teleport not snap the player’s camera in the direction they teleport in every time it happens. (I’m sure this one is possible, right???)

In situations with slightly more lag than usual (like, a really minuscule amount more) this pretty much prevents you from teleporting in a turning curve because of how often it forces your POV back forward

With the copied text done I do want to add on that having a annoying and (possibly, but I won't rely too much on that) unintentional mechanic is NOT a valid thing to call a "nerf" or "downside"

Not sure why this topic is a mixed bag nor why a concerning amount of people use the same "the spell will be too powerful if you change this" reason but for some reason my brain finds that reason unacceptable and hence hate it >:(

(Ok but fr I'm writing this late at night so maybe once I'm slightly more conscious tomorrow I can probably make a more cohesive defence against it. Have fun)



TLDR; Teleport doesn't disable fall damage for some reason only resets it, unlike every other movement spell. It also does funny force-snap your camera back to the tp direction whenever you cast it and turn your head which which is annoyingly disorienting if you're trying to play fast-paced.

"But tp too op" ok yeah this doesn't add to the op-ness nor does fixing them dampen it. If anything why not make the other movement spells be closer on par? I can list down at least one actually mechanical flaw for each of them that can be resolved with a neat QoL

The fall dmg sure whatever but the snapping would be so nice if it was gone

Doesn't the snapping make it harder to turn midair

It forces your camera back to the original direction so if you turned, you have to turn again a second time

 

I agree but also neuropsychopharmacology is unironically a cool field of science and I am hurt by the fact it is the no option.
