For example, you might see it snowing in Nesaak, or seeing rainfall in Nemract. There could also be some custom weather types, like sandstorms in the desert.

The concept of weather stuff though was originally what I wanted from world events before I learnt that the design for them was effectively just lootrun challenge objectives. Pestilential Downpour's original concept was a biome-wide weather event

Is it even possible to set the player's render distance in a certain region

    We were *robbed*.

When I heard 'World Events', and looked at the teasers, I was imagining, like:
    - You're walking down the Coastal Trail, when suddenly, crabs appear!
The general mechanics of the World Events are sound, but they're basically the opposite of spontaneous. Even if you happen across an event by chance, it's not like you suddenly stumbled into something cool. You just stumble into a 'wait for a bit, then something cool will happen'. I think calling them World Events is kinda bad. Because they're good, but World Events doesn't really describe them well. They're not particularly diverse and are basically just time-based wave combat. And there's no city assault world events, to my knowledge, which is just sad.

I would like to see biome-wide weather events. That would be more interesting then a world event to me. I'm walking through the Toxic Wastes when suddenly a storm starts up, and the region acts differently? That's pretty cool. Honestly, that should be a Lootrun random event, the only one I encountered was just some cave walls falling down. They don't seem that significant.

I said this in another post, but we wanted to do this, we just can't really do it in a good way with how world events currently work

truth is, it only sounds good on paper. In practice, the only thing it does is to obstruct player view. (unless there is a special world event happening that need the atmosphere)
