There is a major problem with shadestepper, even with recent boosts like shadow siphon, and that’s the fact major abilities like silent killer, and harvester are quite useless since they require a kill, which makes them almost impossible to pull off in boss fights, especially ones that don’t constantly summon little enemies. To make this issue significantly better I propose a new skill

(located next to violent vortex, but it could be located anywhere)

    Shadow dummy

Holding shift while casting smokebomb will send out a Shadow Dummy.
A Shadow Dummy has 80k health, and will follow you around, however it will deal no damage.
The Shadow Dummy is treated as a hostile mob
when a Shadow Dummy dies, regain 6% of your health.
You can only spawn up to 1 shadow dummy at a time.
Shadow Dummy decay after 40 seconds.
Shadow dummy cooldown is reset once the shadow dummy is dead
    (40 second cooldown)
    (2 ability points)

Edit: Removed the ability to summon multiple at once that can cause lag, removed the ability to reset cooldown on ANY mob kill
Reduced the health gained on shadow dummy death to 6% (from 8%)
Reduced Shadow dummy health to 80k (from 100k)

Yes! It would allow you to activate those abilities more consistently, it would be treated as a hostile mob

It looks like a nice thing to add but isn't 100k health to much?

nightcloak knife doesn't really act like a summon (it's like guardian angels and ophanim orbs: they follow you and don't do much besides extra damage)

i'm aware (shadestepper just doesn't have anything else that could be considered a summon)

i thought that you were simply referring to types of summons. Okay then. Let's math
You can get a maximum of 6 effigies with triple totem, 14 (are these per totem? i don't think so) puppets max with maxed summoner ATree. With Aspect of the Beckoned Legion (+3 Puppets) and Summoner's Embodiment of the Omipotent Overseer (+16 Max Puppets from Sheperd), you get a grand total 39 summons with summoner.
Shadow Dummies shall require more mathing. They disappear after 3 minutes, so the max you can create (assuming you can manage to kill two enemies consistently and send out a dummy in two seconds) is 180/2 which equals 90. However, you need to be in a situation where you have an infinite supply both of thingies to kill and of mana, which is... impractical?
also, using the numerical values means that trapper (which can only summon 7 summons) has less than summoner.
