You know, if I'd been making the World Events, I wouldn't have put the ones that aren't Annie on a cooldown, at least initially. You come close, they proc, you can run away to come back later or fight it - and there's a cooldown if you lose.

Yeah fully agreed. They just kinda feel like timed lootrun challenges and not world events. A lot of potential but the result wasn’t very… eventy, yknow?

 

Yeah world events could make it finally seem like mobs are hunting the player, but still, the way it turned out is that you literally open your book, look for the mobs to hunt that are available, go there and wait. There still isn’t an instance of mobs that want to hunt the player, it’s always the other way around. Once they make like double the events they have now, they should remove them from the content book, remove timer, and make them a lot more common. Because instead of mobs coming and posing a threat of hunting the player, it seems like lootrun challenges without the lootrun. (Except major world events those seem fine)

Yeah agreed. The waiting part really, really takes out the immersion in my opinion. Like, how do I even know that these mobs are going to come here, and when? It's a world event, not a game of wait-around-and-find-out. Especially stuff like corruption invasions. The waiting just takes out a lot of the immersion and fun IMO.

 

This would not work lmfao. They trigger on all servers at the same time, they're not person or world specific.

Yeah, that's the problem. The implementation just doesn't really live up to the concept, I think, and you can't really modify the current one to fit a better model. Random events that just happen would be more interesting and immersive, but that would require a total rewrite of how World Events spawn, which naturally the CT won't do until at least two years in the future.

 

These are literally already a thing.
