(Note that this is an heavy inspiration from Terraria's 1.4 Bestiary, if you played it, you know what I am talking about)

Add a Bestiary to the game, where all the monsters you defeated are listed, with their name, appearance, difficulty, base hp, weakness, general locations to find them, number of times you killed this mob and lore.

On top of that, the first time you kill a mob you don't unlock everything. you first unlock name, appearance, difficulty, kill count, location. And the more you kill them, the more information you unlock, up to the lore you unlock last.

The number of kills to unlock everything depends of the monter, from let's say 50 for regular mobs, 100 for some mobs that appear in masses, 10 for bosses (and maybe rare monsters), and 1 for monsters you can only see in quests.

And also count quest monsters not when they are killed but when a quest is completed, so it's easier to manage, and can be applied to all players who done certain quests.
Another alternative, is to simply ignore quest monsters, and only add in the Bestiary quest bosses because they are quite important.

Killing a monster will make it appear in the bestiary, this is called "discovered", and killing it enough time to complete its entry is called "completed"

Also make so the bestiary discovery can be seen on an user information as a percentage. And once it's 100% discovered, instead show the percentage of completion. And when Bestiary is 100% complete, display a certain icon instead.
This could also be added in the leaderboard in the website.

As a material reward, give to the player 1 liquid emerald when they discovered 10%, 2 liquid emeralds when they discovered 20%, etc up to 10 liquid emeralds when they discovered 100%. Then again 10 liquid emeralds when they completed 10% of the entries, then 20 liquid emeralds, etc up to 100 liquid emeralds at 100% completion.
While this seems like a lot, it's not much compared to end game raids and an emarald rewards may entice the players to complete more while not making it mandatory, since it's only emeralds.

At first I was like “just use the wiki” but this could be a cool thing to search for and kill 100% of mobs,

This would make it a real pain for completionists though

So I want to do this but the issue is there's like 5 billion mobs and I don't want to write shit about every single one. I have a concept for a bestiary for some certain enemies planned, but it may not come for a bit.

What a coincidence, I proposed the same thing on the Discord once.
Yeah, same result. It's just too much work.

How can it be too much work ? Almost every mobs are listed on the wiki. Sorry if Im mistaking, but its probably 50% of the work done, no ?

No, that's the easy part. The issue is that you need to make a unique loor for a ton of mobs. We had the same problem when making the item rework.

They could use chat GPT . Though I understand that writing the lore is a huge part, a lot of mobs dont need more than 5 words afterall. It will be a lot of work for sure, but it could so much too ( like a better understanding of the new bosses and their abilities )
    ________________________________
Yeah I know, but most of them are straight duplicates or very similar so you could easely ask an AI to fill the lore for them. Like the ragni outskirts zombies for exemple : https://wynncraft.fandom.com/wiki/Lists_of_mobs/Ragni_Region#Surface_Mobs you can see that 4 of them are straight up the same mob ( just not the same level and armor )

"This is a horse. Everyone know what a horse is." yup, very useful. I think it would be too bland, you know.

Like if we take Hollow Knight for example, every creature has a bit of interesting loor and commentary. And reducing this would make it basically nothing.

    chat gpt SUCKS

a huge part of Wynn is its lore
if you have an 'AI' (chat gpt is more like a copying module that understands English grammar construction) write the lore
then the lore is just stuff regurgitated from across the internet

and having short lores for mobs would feel half-done
if there were a bestiary, i feel like mobs would have to be grouped together in some way.

Im not saying to use GPT for everything ... There is like at least 50% of the mobs that are ( like I said ) duplicates or very similar, so you can easely create a lore for one mob and ask gpt to use your text and change it a bit depending on the name of the mob and I assure you it will work really well, because like I said, you are not going to do a 6 page lore for "Zombie Raider", and something like : "The Zombie Raider is a former human marauder who was corrupted by the portal. He has become a soulless zombie, wandering the lands in search of fresh flesh. His rusty ax is a reminder of his past life, now devoted to violence and destruction." ( made in GPT ) would be enough.

Of course doing a simple description is pointless but like I showed, it is possible to do cool thing with AI and win a lot of time, making it easier to create something like a bestiary.

AI doesn't even know the meaning of marauder, it definitely doesn't know anything substantive about wynncraft lore. in terms of interesting information anything an "AI" spits out might as well be "everyone knows what a horse is" but with more filler.

From almost all of my experience with ChatGPT it is trash with coming up with anything at least a bit creative. Besides being extremely generic and boring, it needs extensive hints, luck and review to produce what I want, by which point I can easily just write it myself. Proof: several scenes, characters, stories and other types of creative stuff I tried to get it to make.

I wouldn't call that excerpt "cool". It is "ok" I guess, though I would like to see the whole prompt and conversation.

When I say cool its more like "cool for something that comes out of an AI" ( since everybody sptits on it ) but yeah I guess its more like "ok it does the job". As for the prompt I could send it to you but it is in french, so if I have to summarise it I just asked "Gemini" ( Google's AI ) to find the Wynncraft mob ( wich it did since they are all already listed on the wiki ) and then I asked it to create a little story background for this mob, all was left to do is to change some words to fit more the Wynncraft lore. All this took me about 1 minute.
