Game Mechanics Hellfire Major ID on Monster

    So I was thinking.

    Apocalypse has now become one of my favorite mythics because of its new major ID, Hellfire. The thing is, though, there’s another mythic that could totally benefit from getting this major ID (or at the very least something similar)

    Monster could totally work with this Major ID; just replace Boiling Blood with *Burning Sigil and there you go! It would give the weapon the buff it has always needed, and encourages you to play Arcanist with it (which I’m pretty sure was what it was intended to be used with) Because now, EVERY METEOR leaves a *burning sigil. This could be balanced out by deactivating Breathless or even Windsweeper in general, like how Hellfire regularly deactivates Discombobulate.

    It also fits in with Monster’s whole thing. Now, instead of Arcanist fireballs casted from a wand, you can now imagine yourself hurling them up, leaving fiery puke on the ground.

    Gross? Yes.
    Cool? Very Yes

    Corrected myself. I was tired and forgot it was called Burning Sigil, and not Fiery Sigil.
    Good point from Deusphage. I think taking away all of meteor’s damage is a bit harsh, though. Maybe it would just half its damage, or maybe since Burning Sigil already has AOE, it boosts its damage to compensate for meteor's penalty. I think the former works better, personally.
    Elysium_’s idea is great too. Better than mine in my opinion!

    Hellfire makes bash not deal damage, but buffs the damage of boiling blood. If Hellfire was hypothetically applied to Monster, the meteor would not do damage, only the burning sigil.

    I feel like this idea is more flexible than that though, you wouldn’t have to keep every detail that Hellfire has. Maybe Meteor could just do greatly reduced damage and not knock back enemies to compensate for the power boost from a stackable Burning Sigil, but without losing all the utility of the spell.

    ^ and wouldn't this nerf Light Benders and Riftwalkers who don't use Manastorm? Hellfire, from what I know, is convoluted as-is and I don't think it'd be healthy to throw another class and its abilities into the mix.

    Cool idea tho

    That’s true, maybe monster could benefit more from a new and unique MID instead of Apocalypse’s. Something to do with breathing fire, maybe it would make turn into a flamethrower-like ability (like the mob spell) instead of shooting a meteor.

    I wonder if a flamethrower ability would fit more with replacing ice snake, cos meteor is already kind of fire related, so having both spells be more fire related might fit more with monster

    That's a good point, I agree. It would be very cool to have two fire abilities and kinda weird to have one fire ability and then an ice ability lmao
