    The topic of a new class has always been foreign to me, since the 5 we currently have seem to cover most of the checkboxes we need to make an mmorpg work but I wanted to still try and come up with something unique that has its own identity while still being feasible as an actual class that could be added, anyways, here's my ongoing idea

    this idea came to me as I was playing acolyte ritualist shaman, which is very fun i just wished that the resource management part of acolyte was more fleshed out, and so this new class idea was formed

    a swordsman who's blade transforms into a rifle.

    Seems a bit off the wall but I feel like its completely feasible, this idea was inspired by the likes of bloodborne and monster hunter and it's still incomplete, but I wanted to write down a "draft" to give the community an idea of what I'm suggesting, so this might the first of a few posts

    You'd start with your "gunblade" in sword mode, killing mobs (later on the 3 different sub classes would have different forms of doing this) adds bullets to your holster, up to 6 without any upgrades

    you can then use your bullets to deal devastating damage, until you run out of bullets

    holding shift and using any ability would see your weapon morph into its other form, this means that this class would have 8 different abilities

    So if you were in "sword" mode and held shift and R-L-R you'd see yourself performing the "gun" mode R-L-R ability

    right now I don't have any of the abilities drafted out, so ill just have to skip them for now, but as a general idea I feel like the "sword" abilities should be very simple and somewhat underpowered while the "gun" abilities should be off the wall and borderline broken

    the subclasses for this class would have many possibilities such as:

    Gunmancer:(I was going to name this sharpshooter but I'm 100% that's an archer subclass) this subclass would flip the class's gimmick on it's head, and have the gun be the "main" weapon of the class and having it so the sword has the devastating damage properties, hitting M1's on enemies would charge up a bar, you can then use the sword to execute enemies in close quarters

    Trickshot: this subclass would have the user create multiple targets for themselves ( yes I've played ultrakill) while in sword form, which they can then switch to gun form and shoot these targets, hitting these targets would not only give you buffs but also damage nearby enemies in an aoe area

    Sheriff: this subclass would have you mark enemies in your sword form and shoot them in your gun form for extra damage, these shots would be instant and tracking (think Cassidy ult from Overwatch) you can mark a target multiple times to deal crazy burst damage

    now these subclasses aren't perfect, I just wanted to give an example on how easy it is to come up with subclasses for this class, id love some feedback as I plan to post about this again in a more detailed matter in the future

    I like the idea, it's very inventive. However, 8 Spells is frankly insane, both to keep track of, and to make each Spell feel unique, especially for the gun form. Maybe the gun form of the regular Spell would make it a longer range, or be a modifier to the regular variant, instead of changing it too heavily (leave that jobs to the Ability Tree). Speaking of, I really like the ideas for the three subclasses. Gunmancer's just kinda awesome, and so is Sheriff. Trickshot feels off, like it's missing something (which it probably is, given that this is just a draft). Trickshot and Sheriff feel like they could meld together ridiculously well, so some care will have to be taken in order to make them unique.

    honestly I love this idea mainly because of how original the idea is. Though i doubt something like that can be added into the game I think a swordsman/gun wielder type class would be interesting. And assassins don't use swords, they use daggers. So a swordsman can definitely be different from assassin. But I still love the idea of a class that can transform it's weapon, Great Ideas!

    I can definitely see where this is coming from and I really like the solution you gave, but I just had one of my own, rather than have shift switch modes we could have a dedicated ability to swap classes, R-R-L seems the best bet since it's how you change masks for ritualist, but having each ability do the same thing with different effects is something I'm gonna keep in mind as I write more about this idea, thank you for the input!

    While this certainly one of the more novel and better concepts for a class, unfortunately the Wynncraft team usually doesn't do class suggestions, as that would be too much to add to the game.

    Yeah im aware that all my ideas are a bit too much to ask from the dev team and I doubt any would actually be added in their entirety, I'm posting these on the off chance a dev sees this and gets their own idea on what to add in wynn, won't stop me to ask for a poison rework anytime soon tho

    We don't add classes based on suggestions. In 11 years we've added one class, being shaman.

    MELEE/RANGE CLASS????

    Oh my god spell variations. The Hwei main in me thinks this would be hella good, but the fact that spells in wynn doesn't have cooldowns will probably undermine this like crazy (why use all your different spells if you can just spam one/two spells forever instead?). You'd have to design them in a very specific way if you don't want that to happen, which isn't impossible or unfeasible at all, just hard to come up with lol.

    But yes this is phenomenal. I'd love to see more of this!

    The main idea would be one of the weapons (gun) would be stronger, but it would need a resource other than mana to be used (bullets) that you can only get by using the other node (sword)

    Oooh that reminds me of Hyper Light Drifter! It's a solid gameplay loop to start with, especially since you plan on making guns deal more damage than swords.

    We don't take class or map expansion/updwte ideas, but we do take other ideas.

    The general opinion being ... what? We just aren't looking for fan ideas for new classes

    I think it was said by Pretzule that guns will most likely not be added into the game... but then again...

    Streetcleaner has a flamethrower, Cooling & Heating Unit have shotguns, there was a cut Corkus lootrun enemy that was a sniper robot, and some other things. Maybe you could consider the mortars in TLS as "guns", as they're artillery.
    I don't think gun guns have much place in Wynn, but fantasy firearms totally do & are cool. Weapon that fires a buckshot of despermech scrap or a concentrated blast of electromagic? I'm all for that
